I recently purchased a new computer and decided to reinstall using the streaming client. this works well, except that i get Fetching assets often when zoning, which usually takes 5-10 minutes. Typically this only happens when I go to a new zone, but it can be frustrating to others waiting for me.

I made a copy of the VPK files from my previous machinge, but I cannot find a place where they belong or something has changed with the current install.

Is there a way to use thes files to update my new install? If not, is there a way to set the streaming client to fetch overnight to patch the game?

The VPK files go in the "paks" folder within your EQ2 folder.

The VPK files are a huge portion of the game. You can copy them and shorten the time to download for sure (we do this between our computers all the time, patch one and copy to the others via local network). Don't overwite newer ones you already have.

Also, many of those files might now be old, and once GU54 hits about 3.5gb of changes (I believe much of that is probably for shader 3 support once its activated).

You can also run EQ2.exe directly and let it patch overnight.

1) There does not appear to be a PAKS folder with the streaming client.

2) I cannot find any VPK file anywhere on the harddrive, after doing a full search

3) There is also no eq2.exe file
