Hello all,

I am wanting to find out, I have 2 gtx 260 maxcore 55 sli, 4g ram (1000), q6600 3.0ghz. And my main question is this, I just got my first sli set up today. I was using a gtx 260 (192), anyways, I have my setting setting inbetween high and very high, its customized so its hard to say exactly with out listing a ton of stuff. And in sli I am getting 25-70 FPS depending on where I am and whats going on. But, when I disable sli and totally unplug the second vcard, I still get 25-70 FPS. I understand that FPS change very fast and very much in EQ2, but what I dont get is SLI isnt adding anyting. I thought with my setting if 1 card gave me 25-70 that a second would give me 35-75 or something like that, that there would be some difference. So what is wrong or is it me. I have made sure that in the nvidia control panel that sli and phys is enabled, I have went through the 3d setting above that and made sure that the eq2 sli is check ect. But no gain, with exact same ingame graphic settings, just seems off to me.

Thank you for your time and help, and putting up with my rant.

Darkshadow29

It's actually pretty simple. EQ2 doesn't use SLI at all. Matter of fact, up until fairly recently it was problematic to even try to run EQ2 with SLI enabled. I think they fixed that but not sure as I do not use an SLI setup myself. But, until and unless SOE does a fairly major revamp in the way the game displays graphics I suspect your SLI will continue to be pretty much worthless insofar as EQ2 performance is concerned.

The main issue is that the game tends to use the CPU more than the graphics card. Your single graphics card can probably handle all of the necessary calculations by itself and the FPS is being limited by the CPU. It would be hard to say that for sure, but that seems more likely in this case.
