So im and eq vet and i used to play necro, dirge in eq2 and i decided to go back to my roots for an alt. i have not been playing my necro for long but he just hit 72, now i know the myth pet is a beastly mage pet so youd be nuts to not go with a mage pet aa build. its also pretty straight forward to go with a tank spec aa build for soloing and what not. that said im on a pvp server and (this may change when i get myth pet) i really like having the scout pet out for pvp, his ability to teleport is nice and most of his CAs stifle and stun without sacrificing much dps. Im also a scout at heart so having the scout pet is nostalgic for me. right now i have a raid/dps/mage pet build for AA and im working on a tank pet/pvp/solo build. basically im curious if anyone has meshed 2 pet builds in one before. i was thinking (roughly) in the summonder tree going 4 4 4 8 in str, 4 4 4 8 in agi, 4 4 1 in sta and 4 4 4 8 in wis. necro tree i would put 21 points in rotting so i can get lifeburn. enhance root stun fear and the pet buff proc to get tainted heals, 5 points in consumption. 3 points in the tank pet dmg absorb 5 in pet summon spell speed and allocate the other points in either the pet heal or enhancing the scout pet or the tank pet further.

is this crazy? am spreading myself thin? should i just use mage or tank pet for pvp instead? i know this is subject to change come february with the expansion, rumor is scout pet is gonna get an upgrade and most likely then be more viable on a whole and may get his own aa build. but i cant sacrifice the tank pet. any thoughts or shared experiences would be great, thanks

To be honest, once you have your mythical pet you won't be using your scout pet anymore. Plus the mage pet out-DPS's the scout pet pretty soundly.

This will be adressed with the expansion, however.
