Launcher problems

<p>Hello I am returning after a few years off and am having some problems with the launcher, I click on the launcher icon. withing 5 minutes it may show up. then i can sign in/ hit go ect. then it seems to get stuck on starting.. thats all it does.</p><p>if i try to close it my entire computer may crash, have had a reboot a few times.</p><p>any help? I have a dell xps game maxchine, windows vista, 1 gig nvidea 8800 gt card</p>

<p>I have the same issue, freezes after you have entered your login data.</p><p>i do also have a dell xps machine but im sure that aint the problem, also is there any torrent or other way to download? dont want to spend 30min each time i zone.</p>

If you have a old installation on another machine or a friend that plays you can copy over the wire or via dvd to your box. The delay in zoning will only occur once per zone if it is the first time you have been there and a full download is needed or after a change has been made to the main files of the zone and a differential patch is needed</p><p>I believe the old launcher is everquest2.exe or maybe eq2.exe, have not used it in such a long time that the shortcut no longer exists. Be aware that if you ar doing a clean install you are looking at approximately 11GB of download before you can play the game</p>

<p>im afraid i dont have any friends that i can "take" the game from.</p><p>but my Main problem still remains, the new launcher freezes after i have entered my account/password info.</p><p>and this keeps me from playing the game ;(</p>

You mention you are running under Vista, when you start the game do you right click the icon and run as administrator?</p>
