Hi guys this is going to sound rediculous but please try and help!!

I recently upgraded from XP 32bit to Windows 7 64 Bit and swapped out my old 7950gx and 2gb of DDR for a 4890 and 4gb of DDR2 now on monday night i was playing my mid 20's ranger through Butcherblock and Nek with no issues what so ever really good frame rate i also raided WOE with my assassin this was all in High Quality with shadows turned off, heres the strange part, on tuesday when i started playing my framerate was shot to pieces in most of nek it was under 10FPS as opposed to the 30 or 40 the night before! Butcherclock was alittle better but still terrible enough to make me realise i wasnt imagining it and something was wrong!! I no this isnt much to go on and il provide any extra details you need but had changed nothing! and since it has become dreadful redid WOE earlier this evening and got an verage FPS of 12-15 normally about 9 in fights, and this was on balanced! Please help me here as iv just spent £250 on all this new gear and the game now runs worse!

I know its not my graphics card as i can still run borderlands without a problem!

Greetings,

I see that you switched from an Nvidia card to an ATI card. I assume you uninstalled the old drivers before installing the new ones, but did you run any kind of driver/registry cleaning software as well? It's generally a good idea to do so if you didn't reinstall Windows after changing graphics card brands.

Also, some of the game files will save your system settings and that could be causing a problem. You might want to delete the following files so that the game can download fresh versions:

cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.ini

i got the same problem, but unlike joker the ONLY change to my system and game was the little LON update with the new scenario. i hit the magicaly NINE (9) fps too in fights and in some areas. its not nice to raid with those fps.

it is noticeable that the fps drops down to exactly 9 most of the time. not more, not less.

win xp, ati grfx

Wasnt neccessary to reinstall as when going from XP 32 to 7 64 u have to do a complete install and reformat so the harddrive was wiped the only bits i took with me were my UI settings and like i sed the graphics slowdown occured after this and after one night of very good play time =(
