Hi

Looking forward to some EQ2 with friends I launched the game via the station launcher and got the message below.

I've already made sure its running under administraor settings solution and rebooting, no change I cant get into the game. The game was fine yestreday before the patch.

There was a problem moving C:Program FilesSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II (GB)lp_tempEverQuest2.exe_delta_8432_105.patched to C:Program FilesSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II (GB)EverQuest2.exe. Please try again. If the problem persists use the Help menu above for more info and help.

Station launcher will try again after 30 seconds.

Greetings,

When you say you're running as administrator, you mean that you are right clicking and selecting 'run as administrator' to start the game, correct? If not, please do so. The next step I would recommend would be to delete the file it is mentioning. Open your Everquest 2 directory and delete the Everquest2.exe file. Then rerun the patcher.

Also, every time I see your name I think Rothgar lost his orange title somehow. It's disconcerting.

Hi

I deleted the file as advised, now I'm getting the message the stationlauncher.exe has stopped working. I still cant get into the game.

Since posting the line above, I've uninstalled and completly reinstalled station launcher and I get the same message, stationlaucnher.exe has stopped working.

After taking your advice of deleting the everquest2.exe file, I was screwed, so I restored the file and by right clicking I can get into game but doesnt this now mean I wont be getting any updates downloaded?

The original launcher doesnt work and the station launcher doesnt work, I start to question why I pay Sony when all i get is hassle. I just want to click on an icon and play the game...is this so much to ask?

Hi

I launched the game today via the station launcher, after about 20-30seconds of files being automatically downloaded just as the game should have been launching an error window popped up 'Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library' Program C:/program files/sony...' this application has requested the runtime to be terminated in an unusal way. How do i fix this? its only happened after todays files being downloaded.

Let's keep the issues you're experiencing in one thread please.

If you're crashing with a C++ error then it seems likely that some of your C++ files have been been corrupted. You can redownload those files here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&displaylang=en

If the problem persists at that point then we'll probably need some more information about your computer. At the very least I would need your CPU, graphics card, and driver info. Your DXdiag file up through the sound devices section would be ideal.

Hi

I used the link you had provided, thanks for that, sadly it didnt make any difference, I've got the same problem.

My system is:

Intel i7 2.67GHz

ATI HD4870 x2 card ( I have latest driver downloaded)

6Gig of Ram

Vista 32 bit system

I have saved my dxdiag file but I'm trying to figure our how to attach the file in this forum.

Incidently I did a system restore to yesterday, the launcher seems fine until it completes the file sits updating and it all goes pear shaped after that. No sure if that helps you in anyway.

It appears something strange is happening with the station launcher. I can load up the old style launch pad but I just started losing connection with the station launcher. I'll post more info as I recieve it.

My Station Launcher was losing connection earlier today and now simply will not connect. I asked in the 1-9 chat on our server and others are having the same issues.

I know this is a thread on the other person's login errors but it may be helpfull to know if the launcher is not working for others.

Hi

In desperation to try and play the game I did a restore to a few days ago, reinstalled station launcher and guess what, everything worked fine. The launcher updated and the game played fine so I was able to play for a few hours.

Sadly though logging in this evening, there was another update of files downloading, after which the station launcher now has a problem and shuts down again, so I'm back to square one. I dont know whats happening but it seems whatever is being downloaded is messing up the launch.

I know you said you were running it under administrator mode, but if it is already up and you try to open it with administrator privelages it wont do anything. I get that error whenever I don't give it administrator privelages.

Close the station launcher. Make sure its not running in your process and not running on your taskbar.

Right click the icon and give it adminstrator privelages.

Hi

Everyting seems to be working fine now for the last three days. What have I done?, well nothign really after repeated restores and downloading I'm no longer getting the errors of the launcher having problems. I dont honestly feel I've done anything so I'm not sure what the problem was.

hi i would like to update what i figured out the problem was. the server was going through a new address which wasnt on our router's A list (some content distribution server not hosted directly by sony) with the IP addresses 208.111.153.241 and 208.111.153.169. if anyone else is still having issues, the server hosting this isnt an erronius virus that managed to bypass your AV software and is in fact an SOE patch server . this has to be directly related to the issues people were having with the patch server prior, since changing info like this is bound to cause issues in some way or form until DNS records are updated, people reconfigure their proxy and firewall. not surprising if SOE really changed who is hosting the patch content for them lol

it wasnt an antivirus. our network is set up to block anything we dont directly program in to allow access for. we had to log an attempt to patch the game to see what was happening 3 times before we got all the addresses unblocked. i could give you more details but it's pretty much gonna mean nothing to anyone else since i highly doubt theres many others out there who run their own firewall and proxy server on their home network, who dont have the skills to fix it.
