Before GU53 went live. I upgraded my graphics card to the NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 XLR8 Performance Edition. with 2 gigs of ram. It was a really good improvement. And things went smoother. Post GU53 I have been having issues. It takes me a very anywhere from 15 to 20 mins to load zones.. .That's a problem. The only way for me to counter this issue is to exit from full screen mode. Why is that? Also I've noticed visual errors when I return to full screen mode after I finally load the zone. Such as, pixelated visual effects when casting spells. This corrects after a few moments.

With all the other issues that has come with GU53. I have thought about not bothering to play any more. Random crashes loading issues. It should not take me amost 20 mins and maybe more to get to a zone. Especially when I raid. I should not have to screen modes, or reposition hotbars and bags inbetween gaming. I play a SK so I need to be set.

What exactly is going on with GU53 that has made EQ2 more of a pain then an enjoyment? Most of all. How the hell do I get these issues to stop? If it's not loading then it's randomly crashing. My account is 3 years old and this is the most trouble I've ever had back to back like this

Please help.

Greetings,

At what point does it stall when loading a zone? If it happens during the 'loading ui resources' stage, then you might want to consider deleting the lp_temp folder out of your Everquest 2 directory. I would also advise deleting similar/duplicate folders such as !p_temp if you have them. We have a thread discussing that issue here:

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=460914

Regarding the increased memory usage, we have had a few major patches since then that have decreased memory usage. At this point it should actually be the same or better than where it started before GU53.

The crashing you're reporting may actually be related to the graphics card you're using. What driver version are you using with that card? We've seen a lot of issues with the 190 and 191 series drivers. If you're using either of those versions then I would advise reverting to the 186 drivers for now.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
