Hey guys,

Longtime EQ2 Player here and ran into a problem whilst reinstalling everquest2. I had recently reformated my PC and tried downloading and installing EQ2 via. internet (digital download). It had run through the download (quicker than i had imagined) and the patcher scanned the files and said I was clear to play. I hit play on the patcher, it loads up everquest 2 and immediately crashes. Now I tried uninstalling and reinstalling via. digital download and the same thing happened.

Now I fish out my RoK CD's and uninstall my previous installation and try reinstalling via CDs. An odd thing happens. I almost instantly install the CDs. Bang! Disc 1 Bang! Disc 2 Bang! Disc 3. Found that odd, open the patcher, enter my account info, patcher scans disk files, says I'm good to play, hit play. Everquest 2 loads and then immediately crashes.

Heres the thing, after the odd installation of the RoK CDs, the patcher never installed TSO. It just said I was good to play and never updates/downloads anything at all. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling various ways multiple times and can't get it to work. I've tried looking up this problem to no avail. It's really odd and I don't know what more I could do.

Recently I had switched out my motherboard, but I had ran eq2 on it before I had reformatted my hard drive.

My Computer specs:

Windows XP

AMD 6000+ 3 Ghz x2

4G RAM/ 10k RPM Hard Drive

NVIDIA Ge Force 9600 1gig

Any advice would be appreciated.

Greetings,

I am not sure what program you used for the digital download, but I would advise using the station launcher available here:

http://launcher.station.sony.com/

Regarding the crash, what driver version are you using for your graphics card? We have seen some issues with the 190 and 191 series drivers and they could be causing the crash if you're using them. For the moment I would recommend using the 186 version of the driver. You should be able to download that here:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find...aspx?lang=en-us

I used the 'reinstall the game' link from the everquest2.com site. It was the normal patcher install I had been used to for awhile now, not sure if it was outdated.

I'll try switching drivers and see how it works. I'll get back to you.

If the problem persists after installing those drivers then try updating through the station launcher instead.
