Okay, quick background here:

I've been struggling with PC problems for the last 3 months or so. This weekend, I finally narrowed it down to two issues: an NVidia .dll problem and a faulty memory card. As a result, I uninstalled my NVidia drivers and reinstalled them, as well as physically removed the faulty memory (I'm now running with 3 sticks of 1 GB each).

When I tried to log in to EQ2 today, I keep hitting the error message in the title of this post. It gets me in-game as far as my guildies being able to see that I've logged in (and I'm able to see their chat posts to me), but then I get the error message and the game stops.

I'm able to log in to character selection from the launchpad, but from there it's the same result as above, as soon as I choose a character.

I've rebooted my computer several times, with no result.

After going to the support page at station.com and determining what the recommended driver is for my card series, I downloaded that. However, when I went to install this driver, it told me it's an older version than the one I already have installed. And quite frankly, after the issues of the past 3 months, I'm not inclined to mess with the card at this point (as it seems I've finally eliminated whatever issues were plaguing me).

I can't seem to find a "repair" option from the EQ2 launchpad, which is the other idea I had.

Any suggestions? And thanks in advance!

If you're using either of those versions then I would advise installing the 186 series driver instead. You should be able to download those through the following link:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find...aspx?lang=en-usPlease let us know if the issue persists after trying that step.

I was actually using the 191. version, but replacing it with the 186. seemed to do the trick. Thanks so much!

Just wondering...will EQ2 be updated to work with the later driver release?

Thanks again for the help.

I jusr reinstalled yesterday and I am constantly having this problem, usually within 2 or 3 minutes of logging in. The silly thing is, the game is still runnng fine, I can log out and log a different character in, I can zone etc etc. But the box stays up til I click it, and once I click it, the game shuts down.

I do have the 191 NVidia driver. How do I get the old one back? I can't find it at the NVidia site.

Please help, I want to play, but I can't!
