Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.5. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".6. Right click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator"

Let us know if the issue persists after trying those steps.

Been there multiple times as well ... nothing is working ... I even loaded the game from the discs!!!

I get on only after completely uninstalling and reinstalling a few times each day ... when I get lucky I play for a few hours ... because God know I won't be able to get back into the the game!

I have tried to run the game as administrator and it changes nothing... here it is Saturday and tech support is CLOSED! The weekend is when you have the highest volumne of palyers online... doesn't it stand to reason that the support office be open?? Sorry but that makes NO business sense! I was on the phone twice (calling from Indiana to San Diego!!) with tech support yesterday. Got into game... logged last night ... camping, and then properly shutting down my computer... doing everything by the book and lo and behold... NO EQ2 today!

the following is a post I am putting eveywhere I can in HOPES that SOMEONE... anyone will please listen before I must do the inevitable ... go back to W*W............

Here's a thought ... lets fix station launcher so that people can consistantly get on to playEQ 1 or 2, before we start adding game content... Since reactivating my subscriptions (plural) I have downloaded uninstalled, reinstalled, rinsed, repeated ad nauseum...(at least 10 to 12 times ... beyond ridiculous don't you think?)...and still I cannot get into the game yet again today! I HAVE CALLED TECH SUPPORT SO MANY TIMES I MEMORIZED THE NUMBER! Please.... for the love of all things good in the game ... please fix this one small (comparatively) tech issue!I don't want to re-quit EQ or EQ2 yet again ... but I never had this kind of drama getting onto a server with WoW....Sorry to mention the "W" word but dude ... I am seriously at my last straw ... and I have full station access and 2 side accounts!~~~ WHAT IS UP? ~~~Tharilyn

Hello Dan,

You are one of the TSR's I have spoken to on my journey back into the game ... I sent you an email. The router I am using is a wireless lynksis ... windows 7 ... UAC is basically as "off" as it can be with Win7 ... my firewall is down ... have gone to both the streaming and the non streaming that you suggested on the phone last week ... still not getting in. I get the brown and red window to pop up with the green box that says checking .... and that is where it stalls ... I no longer get the station launcher to pop up ... where I can choose from all of the games I have accrss to as a station access member ... I strickly get the brown and req eq2 window. Once fustration at waiting for it to load overtakes me and I am compelled to click the window (lol) ... I get a windows pop up that says the program has stopped responding .... I have chosen each of the three choices the pop up window allows ... close the program now, let windows find a solution to the problem, and wait for the program to respond ... all three choices give me the same ... nothing ... the eq2 window just closes.

I have tried each one of the icons on my desktop .... these are new ... I completely scrubbed my hard drive and reinstalled eq from a hyperlink provided to me by TSR Kevin. His URL was to the older version of the launcher ... not the streaming launcher that I was having so much trouble with. I now have 3 different icons ... two that are the standard "S" in a black box ... one is a set up icon and the other probably the actual launcher... then I have an EQ2 launcher as well ... I have tried then ... getting a different prompt on the station launcher icons ... first they prompt me to a modify/repair/remove ... I have again tried each of these ... (doing the math here along with me? ...LOL... each click is growing exponentially by 3)... for modify I get a installation complete ...all is well type of window .... whose only choice is close... so that gets done ... but still no killing of the orcs and mushroom people going on in my world ...lol!

Lastly I get the most fun pop up window of all ... this one could keep an idiot at work for hours because it just keeps repeating itself ... LOL! The pop up says:

Unable to load application from C:/Program files/sony online entertainment/Station Launcher/Main. Do you want to try again?

Click yes or cancel ... well of course I want to try it again ... I want to try it until it works ... it didnt take long to realize it wasnt gonna happen at all ... so then I go through the close program dilemma in the forgoing paragragh ... ya know it's kind of like being trapped inside some commputer version of Groundhog Day .... I just keep reliving the same thing over and over and over again ... Thank GOD for laughter ... without that ... this laptop would be in the "round file" throu no fault of its own ... clearly it is onwer/operator/software drama.

I'm at a loss here Dan ..... please save me!!! (lol)

I didnt mean to allow my fustration bleed over into my post so caustically ... but, I'm an artist and I type my feelings just as well as I breathe ... when I'm passionate about something ... you'll either laugh or cringe

Be well .... I look forward to the day I can just click the icon and be in game with my guildies in a couple minutes rather than days

Tarina

PS... in a last ditch effort to accomodate EQ2 we drilled a hole in the celing and dropped the internet cables down thru the roof for hard wire availability .... the wireless router is within 8 feet of me when I try to log in ... and tomorrow I will again uninstall and reinstall using a hard wired system. (yes we have broadband 10.0+ on download with an average upload speed ... I also have MASSIVE lag in zoning ... muy no bueno!

thanks again ...

Tarina

Greetings,

It apears that our station launcher team has recognized an issue with the program and are releasing a new version to correct it. That could be what is causing the problem here. At the moment there is a preview version of the new launcher available here:

http://forums.station.sony.com/stat..._id=11500015270

On that page you can find instructions about how to install the other version. Otherwise, the new client should release officially in day or so.
