I usually hate to necro a thread, but I think this warrants it, in the name of keeping all the information in one location.

While MKLINK is great, it's also NOT available in Windows XP. Microsoft Technet to the rescue.

The Junction utility is available from Technet, and serves a similar purpose in Windows XP.

Here is how to make it work, step by step.

1. Clean out and delete your current logs folder. For instance, I deleted C:GamesEQ2LogsButcherblock

2. Create the folder you want your logs to live in. For instance, I created D:EQ2Logs

3. Use the Junction command to create the link. For example, I used JUNCTION C:GamesEQ2LogsButcherblock D:Logs

Now, all my log files "think" they are going to C:GamesEQ2LogsButcherblock, when instead they are going to D:Logs. For me, this was critical since my C: drive is a SSD, and I don't want to waste reads/writes to the drive. My D: drive is a typical SATA drive and so putting the logs there doesn't affect the long term performance of the drive.

Hope this helps someone.
