Just then I looked at the actual stats and AC and I must say that I am a somewhat under whelmed. Why?</p> <p >Well, the AC difference is about 60-70 per piece and the stats are virtually the same. <p>Well, IMHO it depends on your playstyle.  If you are levelling relatively slowly, doing lots of quests for AA, moving your xp slider heavily to the AA side of things, etc. then you would probably be well served making the new armor.  You'll see a nice bump in your mitigation moving to cobalt. The level of your armor is factored into how much mitigation it provides and it diminishes as you level up and face higher opponents.  So, if you are going to be spending a long time "enjoying the scenery" I'd go for the upgrade to keep your armor up to date.</p><p>However, if you are blazing through just grinding up to 80 I wouldn't worry too much about terribly expensive or time-consuming upgrades.  Just get treasured or maybe even hand-crafted armor each tier until you upgrade to MC at lvl 72 and then shard armor at 80.  It's much cheaper that way.  In this case, you could sell the rares and use the $ to buy better gear when you get to the 70s.  </p>
