Heya! *passes cookies of preference around to the TSRs*

I don't know how much it affects this, but I just recently upgraded to Windows 7. Seeing as that's the only major change, I assume that has something to do with it.

The scroll wheel on my mouse (Microsoft Windows Notebook Optical Mouse 4000, if that means anything) doesn't seem to like EQ2 in some circumstances. It works fine for zooming the camera in and out (and for anything non-EQ2 related), but when I, for example, open a Merchant window to sell items, it will only scroll one item at a time, if at all. I tried to look through the options and previous threads and didn't see anything -- sorry if I missed something! I tried turning up the mouse sensitivity itself, but that just makes everything else extremely fast-scrolling, but doesn't affect the Merchant/Option/Broker/etc. windows at all.

It's not game-breaking, so no rush. Just a more aesthetic/convenience thing than anything else. (:

Greetings,

You should be able to modify the scroll speed through the control panel. Open the control panel and go to the 'Mouse' options. There should be a 'Wheel' tab that allows you to modify the amount of lines per click. This is with Windows Vista, but I assume it is the same for 7 as well. If the option isn't there then respond and I'll try to find a computer with Windows 7 installed so I can find the option there.

Thanks for the reply!

I tried setting it high to make absolute certain (to 100 lines), quitting out of EQ2, and logging back in, but it had no effect on the game. Needless to say, it had a huge effect on everything else (warp speed, anyone?)!

What kind of mouse are you using? Is it a brand like logitech or razer that has some kind of mouse configuration software? If so, try running that software as an administrator before starting the game. I have heard that doing so will correct some mouse issues that occur with the game.

It's a Microsoft mouse, specifically "Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 4000." I tried updating the drivers for it and rebooting. I'm not sure if it has this software thing you're referring to, though. There is something called "IntelliPoint" that seems to be associated with the mouse, but for the life of me I'm not sure how to run it as administrator. I'll try to figure it out and hopefully that'll work.

I was hoping it was an EQ2 setting, but if it's just my mouse being wonky, then I should be poking at it and not you! d:
