Which is a more effective soloer in both dungeons (lower level) and regular content, Necro or Coercer?

There are a handful of mobs that necro's can kill that coercers have an extremely difficult time killing, if able to kill at all, due to immunities. That being said, if the mob is status-affectable, a coercer can kill it. We can also cruise through zones to kill named mobs faster since we don't have to actually kill everything. Both classes are excellent soloer's, I feel that coercers have an edge on the majority of content though. Some necro's will probably argue otherwise.

just as the abouve poster said. im a necro and im killing 3-4 blue mobs easily. I suppose the same is for coercer.

the only coercer downfall is the constant edge of wondering when you pet will turn on you, and when it does your furry or skin companion will have to die by your hand T_T. then you will have to find another.

I have both a 80 Necro and Coercer. As stated in an earlier reply the Coercer is at somewhat a disadvantage due to the subjugation immunity of alot of the named mobs. As for soloing heroic content both classes can do it but this is where the Coercer excels. With my Coercer I can solo all the fish nameds, The Blue Baron, and Mucus of the Deep One with ease I can clear out 7 of the nameds in there in a matter of 45 minutes. On my Necro I tried one of the fish nameds and it was possible after 3 deaths, it just ended up being me spam healing my pet and it taking like 5 minutes just to kill that one mob. As fars as Vaults of Eternal Sleep I have soloed the Keeper of Nightmares and The Keeper of Dreams with both characters, once again the Coercer killing faster and more effectively. As long as your Subjugation is up around 475+ then you shouldn't have any worries with charm breaking. My Subjugation is currently 478 and I never have a charm break in Chelsith and through the whole run I may only get a maximum of 5 spell resists. The thing I like about my Necro though is that I can use him to auto mentor if needed and solo x2 contested epics, something which is imppossible to do with a Coercer as we do not have a pet that we can heal and use as a buffer.

Soloing shard of fear is a lot easier on a necro too, for example. At low level ranges though, as a coercer you should be prepared to die, and die often. I used to die 20-30 times a night while leveling up just from charm mishaps. Sometimes I'd get bored of soloing and join a group for the companionship, it wasn't for the xp cause that dropped to about 25% of the solo rate.

With both a 80 Necro or Coercer both can solo Shard of Fear easy, but personally I can do it Faster with my Coercer.

Ive only been to SoF once, but supposedly the mobs that have the 'x2' tag in there really arent small raid mobs. Just harder group encounters.
