is it possible to have the game run with uncompressed files?

just to save zoningtime.. i honestly dont care if the game is 30gb at 50,000 files instead of 8gb with 8,000 files

Greetings,

Sadly, I don't think there is anyway to have the game load from uncompressed files. I'm sure it's possible to uncompress the files into a directory, but getting the game to use those instead of the compressed versions would require changes to the game code. I would suggest using the /feedback command in game as the best way to contact the devs with your idea.

Well, there is another possiblity, but it costs $$$ to fix. Hard drive speed, I know this from experience because my laptop has a 5400 RPM hard disk and loading the guild hall takes 5 minutes on there. My desktop, EQ sits on a 10k RPM drive and the hall loads in under 30 seconds. Mind you this is a T3 hall slightly under the item cap.

Also you can try moving the game onto a diferent drive, defragmenting to open up a large block of free space, then copying back to the origional location to make all the files as contiguous as possible to limit the area of the drive the heads have to cover to load the game files.
