Inevitably when I try and change from windowed to fullscreen mode my video driver locks up. I use xp sp3 with ati 4850 x2 - latest drivers.

I would say in general I get strange lagging with all changes in video options, but changing windowed/full screed causes complete lock up.

Neither, I installed driver only without CCC.

I uninstalled previous driver and used driver sweeper program before reinstalling. I have run a memory test and stress tested my video card. All pass without a hitch.

I have played since launch and strangely have only had issues over the past few months. I have used this same setup without problems for 18 months. I am also running a clean OS install on a new hard drive - don't know if that is coincidental or not.

Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.

Then start the game using that same program launch icon. If you did it correctly then it should bypass the launcher and load up the game. Let us know if that has any effect on the issue.
