its starting to look like the devs wanted all pre T8 pvp to be choked to SS

<p>lets face it the docks are a joke. you have nothing but lowbies from both sides hovering around and waiting for higher lvls to attack so that they can leach. the SS pvp has killed pvp in tiers 3-7. it has done nothing but pvp in a single choke point...   i think the carpets need to be mooved away from the docks. heck it makes no since the way the carpet works for zoning into SS. so you take a carpet from your home city and instead of loading in on the carpet in SS you load in on the back of the docks. what since does that make?</p><p>only reason i even want to make this thread is because pvp after DL has died due to SS. this game used to be alice with pvp in every zone now your lucky to see more then 7 people in any non DL or KP zone..   im starting to think that the devs made it this way to choke us for a reason. has the server numbers goten so low that they want to create the illusion there is alot of people? because if you look at if you take everybody in SS and spread them out equaly in every zone you still would have harldy any pvp in thoughs zones.   </p><p>right now nagy might be the second most populated server in Eq2 but sadly that is not saying much anymore. its almost like the second most healthy Kid dying of cancer. odds are you wont die first but your time is running out...</p><p>IDK maybe im just hoping for the good old days where zones where very populated and for the life of me i still dont see why this game is dying while the other MMO that came out around the same time as this one is still one of the top MMO's in terms of Subs..       really i blame SOE for this one SOE has a track record of destroying MMO's can we say SWG and vanguard.  both had great PVP yet SOE went out of there way to destroy it along with every other part of the MMO..</p><p>really this topic could go in the general forum well atleast half of it but i will say one last thing. do you guys think the reason SOE has failed so much in the last 10 years is because they are still stuck in eq1 days where really they where the number 1 MMO almost by defult due to little other good choices?  im just thinking its do or die time and SOE needs to take a gamble and make sweeping changes in both the pve and PVP part of the game..   its time to go back to there bread and butter of eq1 a mmo for people who want a challange and not EZ mode handouts MMO</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: line-through;">please... spare me.</span></p><p>Here's your solution, don't go to SS... or KP/TG for that matter.  You have a game that hasn't released an expansion in well... a long time.  Of course T8 zones are dead, only ones filling them up are alts leveling in the shadows or hidding in instances.  So people want to find PvP... <em>"wow, KP4... omw!"</em>  If you don't like it, leave the zones... cause nothing will change.  This same thought is true with SS.  The dock is great for instant PvP at times.  <em>"hmm.. were to go... run here, run there.. hey, I'll just click on this carpet and see what's there."</em>  Wait till the xmas closet comes out.  *Click*, zone, pvp.  Don't like it... leave.  Nothing changes with you staying in SS to witness what you want to complain about.  There's no pvp in T2-T7 zones... it's cause the games like 6 years old.  Change SS and what you see will evolve somewhere else.</p><p>This is another reason why I really didn't care for the merge.  Yes most wanted it, but I'll say this... playing on Vox and Venny (old venny), you hunted to pvp.  It's actually really cool and I actually like Vox PvP at times.  Naggy has SS and KP for the impation people that want what that crap is.  But do go hunt all zones for PvP if you don't like it.. cause no matter what you try to get soe to change... the same thing will pop up some where else.</p><p>btw... you're playing a PvE game.. and a pretty solid one at that.  PvP is hacked into two servers.  I do use the term "hacked" loosely.</p><p>sorry for the rant.. I'm not ragging at you.. just the whole venting at dev posts.</p>

THE PVP WRIT GIVER..  now i know some people complain but i will say that you have pleanty enough time to get a writ and get to the carpet before immunity runs out i will say that...</p><p>now on the poster who was talking about this game being a PVE game with PVP tied in.. i will give you that. just strange though that PVP was at its HIGHEST back in the day before all the NERFS before being CHOKED to certian zones and before all of the immunitys..</p><p>i dont even know why i even bother to rant though the game is growing old on alot of people its no longer the EQ2 of the past its nothing but a shell of what it was.  i give this game one maybe 2 more expansion before DDAY hits and there is no longer enough people to even do a choke illusion too</p><p>now last thing i would like some of you people to no scan but read a little  this post is not a anti SS rant because i will admit i hanged out in SS pleanty of times and it was fun for a while. the only thing this post is about is me not wanting to be choked. i have played many mmo's when they where in there sying stages and EVERY single one use the exact same tactic of choking there players in a small area to give the illusions that there are alot of people playing.</p>

<p>There is a very simple fix to alot of the problems that Sinking Sands have.</p><p>Make it so people cannot engage pvp outside of the zone's level restrictions (barring carnage flag and city/exiles). Period.</p><p>Greys in SS? Cool, fight the people in your own level range instead of hitting some unresistable (cheap shot, lifeburn, level 2 line of mage spells) or 20 shadowknights spamming taunts/HT and screwing up fights people way outside of their range that they'd never in a million years kill.</p>

<p>The reason that nobody's in old world zones (or old expansion zones) anymore is because they are -get this- OLD. Most of us have played through that content a billion times, and if I want to level an alt I usually blow through it as quick as I can because it's OLD.</p><p>When T9 hits, guess what? People will be out in T9 zones leveling, and you will find PvP there. ZoMgZ! It's just the nature of the game.</p><p>If you don't like it, the solution is, as Exur rightly pointed out, don't go to the mass PvP gatherings! I feel like a broken record lately saying this, but if you and all the other people who QQ about PvP in DLW, SS, KP docks, TG, etc, etc, would just not go there, you'd have nothing to complain about because there would be pvp in other zones.</p>
