I've search the forum every way I know how, can't find any kind of list of the zones requiring an access quest currently (ie as of current GU). Can anyone point me in the right direction or just name the zones?

Thanks!!!

Well, Levi and VP have never required a QUEST per se.

And you no longer need to complete any access quest to gain entry into the Fountain of Life (Godking).

You need to finish the quest to gain access to the Valley of the Rogue Magi as well. I know there are a few other lower level instances that also require quests still but I'm not sure what all of them are.

I believe Cove of Decay still requires one for the version with Octo and the captain.

I'm pretty sure Shimmering Citadel requires an access quest to use the mirror in PoF. You can get around it by taking someone's carpet in a house or guild hall though.

PPR also still requires the access quest I think.

Kurn's tower requires access

Chel'drak's cave

Xux'laio's Roost in Mara still requires the entire raid to have access I think.

Clockwork Menace requires an item to zone in, but it's not really an access quest.

There is a list of access quests at EQ2i - not all are required but it's a good one-spot location for more info.

All these raise an interesting point, in that some zones require SOMEONE to have completed a task or access quest or have an item, while others require every single individual to have completed said quest.

For example, VP requires EVERYONE to have killed Leviathan, WoE/Kurn's requires that SOMEONE has completed the access quest. The latter seems to be the current norm for new content.

Some places (particularly older ones) have access quest for specific versions of said instance, but other versions have none.

It's so convoluted it's not really worth keeping track of, which is probably why there isn't a consolidated list somewhere.

VP is I believe the only zone in the game that requires everyone to have done the quest. The access quest for Shard of Love will not be necessary when Game Update 54 goes live.

Xux'Liao's Roost requires all player access, Cavern of the Crustaceans does not have any entrance requirements. Both are Fallen Dynasty x2's.

Unless you mean the quest within VP for Trakanon's Lair, which it just occurred to me hadn't yet been mentioned in the thread.

Nope, no access at all required for Godking now.

Holy Cow, it is a bit more complex than I thought. This might be an excellent thread for a Developer to step in with some information that will bring everyone up to speed, given all of the changes over the various game updates...

Or am I confused?

I know we did.

Basically, anyone could zone in to the Fountain of Life at all times since it's release. The trick was that someone needed to have collected all the eyes in order to open the inner door where the mobs were.

That was a very frustrating experience trying to get all the eyes. I'm actually glad it's gone for those who might want to run that zone for quest completion purposes.

Where is the 'back door'?
