For the last couple of Years this has been an issue in Raid instances.

After some updates the lag is so bad we have 1-3 seconds of casting lag.

It stays this why for a month or up to several months at a time. Then you patch it up so its not as bad.

But there has been no real fix to this problem.

Right now raid instances are laggy as hell something needs to be done about it.

Most people i have talked with would not mind a good amount of down time if the problem would get fixed.

I was ok before the DB update and now it crap.

Fix the lag people come on!!!

Greetings,

There will be an update tomorrow that may help with this issue so you might want to give it a shot again after that time.

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=461527

If that's not it then a router issue seems like the most likely cause. Are you using a router with your computer. If so, have you tried bypassing it so that you are plugged directly into the modem.

There is no way it could be a router issue, if it is impacting every single person in the zone who could each be living in several different places with different configurations. It is most certainly a server related issue, as it most often crops up with multiple raids raiding the exact same zone at the same time and has been happening across all servers for a very long time.

I would agree that I don't believe this is a router issue. There maybe some where that would fix it but this is not the issue or what I believe is causing it. I have done several tests and I don't believe it is a router or ISP issue. Tonight I am having issues with lag, 3-5 seconds on cast times and I am in the commonlands. I decided to do a trace to Permafrost (my server) and received 5-6 (*) timeouts almost everytime I did a trace. Those destinations being the sony servers (last 2 hops). Then I tired Unrest and even though I had times that were in the 100-150ms range I didn't get any (*) timeouts. If I had a router issue then wouldn't it have surfaced on both traces?

I would appreciate any additional looks you could give to Permafrost.

Part II - when I log in to VG I get the normal hitching in the cities but don't have any thing that I am experiencing in EQ2 with the high pings/traces.

Thanks for any help

Its the same issue that has been going on since the EOF expan. That i know of it the first time i started to raid everyday.

Raid zones were just crap 3-5 second lag between spells. I spent 2 weeks with the online tech people they keep telling me it was something on my end. But i was not the only one having the issue the whole raid was seeing the same thing.

Techs/Devs who ever did some work on the server side and it eased up did not fix the problem but made it tolerable to raid.

Next Expan. comes along same thing more lag they let it go for a couple of months do something to the servers and it tolerable again.

This Expan wasn't that bad but after the DB update went to crap. And i can not just be my guild on my server. I do not understand why they will not fix the problem so we can go on about our game and let them work on other things to improve the game.

I know for me and a few i have talked with we are rdy to toss the game and find other things to spend money and our time on.

I can understand if this was a new issue people need time to correct it, but its been a few yrs now and yes they have made an attempt to make it tolerable to raid.

There is still no attempt to fix the issue.
