I am kind of stuck on if I want to be a Necro or a Bruiser.

I keep hearing how Necro are not wanted (i solo most of the time anyways) and how Bruiser are not wanted (what IS wanted? lol!) witch one would be less gear dependant, easier (i have bad eyes so i cant be looking everywhere or trying to hit alot of buttons at once) can take down nameds (elites?) i am not going to raid, probably not going to do instances/dungeons. so, any advice? or should i do a diffrent class?

any help for this little confused Iksar is appreciated!

edit- i also heard (yah i should stop listening to negativity) that necro isnt good dps? .. what class is good solo/worth playing thats not a tank or solos god-aweful slow but can still take down some big baddies?

Well, if you are not interested in raiding, or even grouping much, either necro or bruiser is an excellent choice. Both classes have excellent solo skills, though the necro has an advantage with tougher mobs.

In choosing between the two, I would consider whether you prefer melee or casting and then go from there.

Oh, all classes in eq2 are gear dependant; the quality of gear you need depends upon what you plan on doing.

You have seven characters available, plus seven more on Test, and seven more on the EU servers (or the US servers if you are in the EU). You can have BOTH a necro and a bruiser.

When folks say necros and bruisers are unwanted, I believe they really mean in raid situations. I've never had an issue grouping on my necro or on my bruiser when I need/want a group. Besides, both are so much fun to play. Great classes for a new/beginning player too. Though, I'd say, at least for myself, the bruiser had more survivability.

Great DPS if played well and encouraged...
