Honestly the best advice I can offer is just... relax, and take it easy. Set your AA slider to 50-70% or so and look for quests.

Once you start acumulating AA points do a quick search on here or other places there are plenty of posts asking "what is the best AA setup"; but you learn more by just picking the ones that you like the sound of best trying therm out and the respecing and generally just playing

Once you reach 70-80 you can seriously start to think about best gear choices, AA specs questlines... but until then the best advice I can offer is:

Enjoy the ride, you're only a n00b once

As Boli32 said just take it easy and have fun along the way!

I would focus on the questing to level up personally. You will get good adventure exp, AA exp and learn some of the lore as you are leveling up. With the new exp slider bar you can choose where your exp goes and level up at your own pace.

I normally do not gear out my toons with the better gear until I am within 10 levels of cap, which right now is 80. The cap will be going to 90 in Feb 2010 with the new expansion.

I'm an High Elven Paladin as well and really like the combination from both the lore and roleplay aspects and also the racials that we have.

If you really want to level as fast as possible to 70...

try to recruit-a-friend.

What recruit a friend does is it gives you a key that can be used to start a new account that links to your current account. While both of you are on and in the same zone you both get 300% xp and some other benifits. The account is free for 2 weeks, and the bonus continues for like another month if your friend subs.

Oh, and if you have any cash on your old toons buying mastercrafted armor and weapons will help a lot. Make sure you get the 52 armor and skip the 62 because the stats on the 62 just arn't that good in compairson due to a re-itemization of 1-59 items that didn't include 60-69. Do get the 72 armor!

The best advice I cold give is to check out the "solo quest timeline" on EQ2wikia

http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Solo_Timelines

Questing is far more efficient than just grinding mobs when you are soloing. Plus, some of the solo quest rewards are pretty good.

Harvest as much as you can because you pick up rare items for mastercrated gear or expert combat arts or just to sell on the broker for $$.

Safe Travels

I am a returning player as well.. In most of my games I have played, starting with well Diablo (old school) I was a Paladin.. and other games I have tried to be this type of fighter/tank... Here is Helms off to you all for being very helpful to ALL people coming to the game... After a few years in WoW (dont get me started on this route) it is fresh and exciting to see such help and good info.. I am sure they are out there but its looking as if there are less (colorful people) in EQ2 than in the game I mentioned before.. I started my first MMO with Asherons Call.. and I am returning to this game as I have been hearing good things. After reading abit of the forums I also like what I am seeing.. people helping people to have a good adventure and not make more than a game out of it and leave the drama far behind... please keep being a great community as THIS is what keeps people in game..

Talent comes with playing and we know some are more talented than others.. I only hope I can aspire to be a good paladin like some of you.. and Talented Giggin Froglok Paladin in training on Everfrost
