Cannot link exmined item in chat window

Thanks</p></blockquote><p>This sounds like it is being caused by a corrupt UI file.  You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.iniTo do this, please follow these directions:If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings.</p>

<p>Here is the scoop, it works when I do that but I use fetish and I have my ui setup a certain way.</p><p>When I use my old uisettings, I get an additional chat window that pops up, this is where my linking is going, when I go to play with my chat box it is gone and so is my linking ability.</p><p>So I am gonna try and figure out this hidden chat window thing, is there a simple way to go back to default chat? Del all tabs but one?</p>

<p>So I can get mystery window to appear, link works, I drag mystery window (tab1) into my chat window, link doesnt work. I tried unchecking all checkmarks in mystery window when it does work, nothing turns linking off.</p>

<p>what fixed it, I am not really sure.</p><p>I had 2 chat windows, one for group/private the other for guild. When I did what you said, I actually renamed the files (ie: backupeq2.ini), I still had my old UI settings, I would /uisettings change back to fetish then try my old ui settings.</p><p>Mystery window would appear, a third window. That is where my link would show up. When I would drop that window back into either chat window, it would stop linking items.</p><p>I had four chat tabs in each chat window, for various other stuff, combat, world chat etc. I ended up moving all tabs into on chat window leaving my guild window by itself.</p><p>Then it worked.</p><p>Why it stopped working after working for months that way and why it only works if I have a single tab in one of the two chat windows, who knows. I can still type in both to chat and not mix messages up but I can only link in the one window with a single tab now.</p><p>I just cant link to someone in group, no biggie, I can link in tells and guild, I can live with that :0) </p><p>Hope that can help someone else.</p>
