View Full Version : Crash to Desktop

Sorry if this is not the correct forum to post in. Also, I've spent the last 4 hours trying to find a fix. Anyways, it is effecting my gameplay =p. I get to play for about 10 mins before the game crashes, the following is in my log files:

10-24-09 18:52:30.613 66512 Error Connection::Read Disconnected: this=0x310-24-09 18:52:30.614 66512 Warning Service::CleanupDeadConnections Cleaning up dead connection: (*i)=0x310-24-09 18:52:30.707 66624 Error Service::Run this=0x351958,e->ToString()=C:srcbuildtoolsbranchesvoontmpvkchm1src vivox.systemtcpsocket.cpp(256) : VivoxSystem::TcpSocket::TcpSocket - error 3003Internal ErrorC:srcbuildtoolsbranchesvoontmpvkchm1srcvivox. systemtcpsocket.cpp(256) : VivoxSystem::TcpSocket::TcpSocket - error 10048

Does anyone know a fix?

Okay, so I did some testing and I seem to have found the issue.

- Reproducing the Issue -

Tested EQ2 on a two different computers. Both seemed to crash roughly 10 mins into gameplay. Both gave the above posted log file information. If further system specs are required, I can supply them later... however I feel that is not needed as the issue is not based on system specs.

Settings in game were set the same on each system. While I went and started changing the settings I noticed some small red wording around the voice chat box on one of them. I disabled the voice chat program in EQ2 and now I recieve no more error messages in my log folder.

- How to Fix -

1. Open EQ2 Options in game.

2. Open Voice Chat Options in the new window.

3. Uncheck "Enable Voice Chat", click "Accept" and close. You should now see no more error messages in the log file if the issue is related.

I am still getting the issue of crashing to desktop without any error notification. Not as often as before, though.

I have reformatted, installed new drivers, re-installed the game, and tested on other computers that work with other accounts that are known to work. It doesn't matter which computer I am on, I still crash.

If I zone, there is a chance I get a message that says "invalid username and password". I sign back in, game runs great for 30 mins... crash.

Please Help,

Rayslo

Greetings,

What graphics card and driver version are you using currently? The latest Nvidia drivers have been causing problems for many people. If you are using those drivers then I would advise rolling back to the 186 version. You can download those from the following site:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find...aspx?lang=en-us

Let us know if the problem persists at that point.
