I have crashed a few times in a row when inside the haunted house. Everytime I speak with the lady in the basement and hit "ready to start now" the client crashes and I'm kicked to my desktop. Any ideas? Has happened twice in a row at the exact same point int the conversation with the NPC.

Greetings,

Does it give you a specific error message when the crash occurs or does it simply shut down? Are you using an Nvidia card and what driver version are you using if so? We have seen some issues with the recent Nvidia releases and I would advise using the 186 version if you are not doing so already. You can get that driver from the following site:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find...aspx?lang=en-us

Sorry. I am a dummy and just read the notice of your reply.

I don't get an error message at all. EQ2 just "disappears" from the running applications. I do use an Nvidia card but it is a mobile one that came with an Alienware.

This is the card info (unfortunatley I have been able to only upgrade the drivers as long as Alienware did and made them available... which they stopped doing for this card in 2006).

---------------Display Devices---------------

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800Manufacturer: NVIDIAChip type: GeForce Go 6800DAC type: Integrated RAMDACDevice Key: EnumPCIVEN_10DE&DEV_00C8&SUBSYS_09001558&REV_A2Display Memory: 256.0 MBCurrent Mode: 1680 x 1050 (32 bit) (60Hz)Monitor: Default MonitorMonitor Max Res: Driver Name: nv4_disp.dllDriver Version: 6.14.0010.8426 (English)DDI Version: 9 (or higher)Driver Attributes: Final RetailDriver Date/Size: 3/17/2006 17:16:00, 3975040 bytesWHQL Logo'd: YesWHQL Date Stamp: n/aVDD: n/aMini VDD: nv4_mini.sysMini VDD Date: 3/17/2006 17:16:00, 3655712 bytesDevice Identifier: {D7B71E3E-4388-11CF-0256-0A2903C2CB35} Vendor ID: 0x10DE Device ID: 0x00C8 SubSys ID: 0x09001558 Revision ID: 0x00A2 Revision ID: 0x00A2 Video Accel: ModeMPEG2_A ModeMPEG2_B ModeMPEG2_C ModeMPEG2_D ModeWMV9_B ModeWMV9_A Deinterlace Caps: {212DC724-3235-44A4-BD29-E1652BBCC71C}: Format(In/Out)=(YUY2,YUY2) Frames(Prev/Fwd/Back)=(0,0,1) Caps=VideoProcess_YUV2RGB VideoProcess_StretchX VideoProcess_StretchY DeinterlaceTech_PixelAdaptive {335AA36E-7884-43A4-9C91-7F87FAF3E37E}: Format(In/Out)=(YUY2,YUY2) Frames(Prev/Fwd/Back)=(0,0,0) Caps=VideoProcess_YUV2RGB VideoProcess_StretchX VideoProcess_StretchY DeinterlaceTech_BOBVerticalStretch {212DC724-3235-44A4-BD29-E1652BBCC71C}: Format(In/Out)=(UYVY,UYVY) Frames(Prev/Fwd/Back)=(0,0,1) Caps=VideoProcess_YUV2RGB VideoProcess_StretchX VideoProcess_StretchY DeinterlaceTech_PixelAdaptive {335AA36E-7884-43A4-9C91-7F87FAF3E37E}: Format(In/Out)=(UYVY,UYVY) Frames(Prev/Fwd/Back)=(0,0,0) Caps=VideoProcess_YUV2RGB VideoProcess_StretchX VideoProcess_StretchY DeinterlaceTech_BOBVerticalStretch {212DC724-3235-44A4-BD29-E1652BBCC71C}: Format(In/Out)=(YV12,0x32315659) Frames(Prev/Fwd/Back)=(0,0,1) Caps=VideoProcess_YUV2RGB VideoProcess_StretchX VideoProcess_StretchY DeinterlaceTech_PixelAdaptive {335AA36E-7884-43A4-9C91-7F87FAF3E37E}: Format(In/Out)=(YV12,0x32315659) Frames(Prev/Fwd/Back)=(0,0,0) Caps=VideoProcess_YUV2RGB VideoProcess_StretchX VideoProcess_StretchY DeinterlaceTech_BOBVerticalStretch {212DC724-3235-44A4-BD29-E1652BBCC71C}: Format(In/Out)=(NV12,0x3231564e) Frames(Prev/Fwd/Back)=(0,0,1) Caps=VideoProcess_YUV2RGB VideoProcess_StretchX VideoProcess_StretchY DeinterlaceTech_PixelAdaptive {335AA36E-7884-43A4-9C91-7F87FAF3E37E}: Format(In/Out)=(NV12,0x3231564e) Frames(Prev/Fwd/Back)=(0,0,0) Caps=VideoProcess_YUV2RGB VideoProcess_StretchX VideoProcess_StretchY DeinterlaceTech_BOBVerticalStretch Registry: OK DDraw Status: Enabled D3D Status: Enabled AGP Status: EnabledDDraw Test Result: Not run D3D7 Test Result: Not run D3D8 Test Result: Not run D3D9 Test Result: Not run

and system info just in case:

------------------System Information------------------Time of this report: 10/28/2009, 21:43:37Machine name: ALIENWAREOperating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.090804-1412)Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: alienwareSystem Model: D900TBIOS: Ver 1.00PARTTBLProcessor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz (2 CPUs)Memory: 2046MB RAMPage File: 511MB used, 3430MB availableWindows Dir: C:WINDOWSDirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)DX Setup Parameters: Not foundDxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode

Are you using a ranger by chance? I heard a report that a player was only having trouble when loading a ranger into zone. I'm wondering if that's the case here.

A ranger!?!?! Blasphemy!!

Heh no. Actually.. it has only ocurred with one character (a 26 bruiser alt). I have done it with another alt (77 warlock) just fine.
