I'm doing the first quest for the nights of the dead thing this year, and I'm on the part where you first have to enter the instance.

I get in to Hollow Hedge, walk up to the tree stump, click it...

As soon as the progress bar gets done, as I click it, the game crashes. Every time. I've done it 9-10 times now. Full screen, windowed, low quality, high quality. Even made sure nothing was running in the background.

I'd like to finish the series... Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I moved this into the tech forums in hope sthat you can gain some assistance since this is an event that will be leaving in a few weeks

The only thing that I can think of is a router or permissions issue somehow.... Glad to know that the TSR's know more then I do though

Have you downloaded the additional items via the patcher (special events)?

Good luck!

You may want to delete the following files and folders:

cache folder

eq2_recent.ini

eq2_default.ini

EverQuest2.exe

eq2.ini

As well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:

Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.ini

Stationname_characters.ini

To do this, please follow these directions:

1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the directory in the default directory:

2. Click on MY COMPUTERC DRIVEPROGRAM FILESSONYEVERQUEST II

3. Next look for any files explained above and delete them.

4. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

Greetings,

What graphics card and driver version are you using with that computer. The issue you're reporting seems to be happening for people who use the recent driver releases from Nvidia. If you are using an Nvidia card then I would suggest using the 186 version of the driver, available through the following website:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find...aspx?lang=en-us

Alrighty, I'll be trying the Aaron's suggestions as soon as the Nagafen/Venny merge takes place, can't do much till then.

As far as graphics cards go, I dont have one. My laptop uses some graphics accelerator:

Intel GMA x3100 (Never had any trouble playing eq2, or doing anything involving events though. Hell, it even runs Aion fine.)

Driver I'm using is a recent one for 2009, that I need to play one of my other MMO's, so switching from it won't be an option.

I'll just have to pass up that particular instance, if that's the case. x.x

Any other suggestions are welcomed, if ya have any ideas. Thanks for the help so far.
