I am just comming back from a long break. My mains server is kinda dead. i am looking for one that has alot of people, economy is not messed up (everything is over priced). I am kinda up in the air about classes. now what i do know is the SK is Very good at soloing. i have one. but its on a dead server, and i made him before the new patch that changed the way they work. so kinda wanna start one over and relearn how to play them, second class would be the Zerker. i have seen them played they look hecka fun. i guess i am looking for a good tanker. and Tradeskill, so i know if i go armor i can make my gear. but what is the money maker, i have been told like cooking. and woodworking is a great money maker.

so if ya can please help me out a bit.

Antonia is the busiest server, if you're looking after that

For the classes: just play them. Everyone can solo well nowadays, damage classes faster than defensive classes (like some healers) but everyone can do it. SK and Zerker both can solo well and are good tanks.

For the moneymaking: Tradeskills are not that good for making money. Best way is to collect every shinie and ressource and sell the rare ones in your broker. Later on you get more money than you need anyway

Servers:

Make a new character during your usually intended playing times. Towards the end, you can see the server loads of people currently logged in at that point in time. Base your server selection with that in mind. And while AB is THE most populated server in the game, I've also heard various people always complain about the AB lag (which is caused by too many people crowding into a single server). My Lucan D'Lere server has always met my needs, but each to their own.

Tradeskills:

People who want to make money tradeskilling have two options. Either you're going to cater your market towards making permanent needed items for leveling up alts (like weapons, armor, and some jewelry) or you're going to make temporary / charged items to top tier players.

Right now a lot of the servers are being with a mass of low level price inflation. People at the top tier just have tons of money by this point and little idea about what to use it on. As a result, they rarely blink at 1-2p price tags on lower level items for the alts that they're power leveling to max level. If they can easily make 20-30p in a few days on their geared out main, then casually throwing cash at an alt isn't a big deal to them.

Or you can market to the end game crowd. These people use charged items like they're candy. More specifically, you want to either go the poison / potion route or the temporary adornment route. Alchemist can make cure potions, high end temporary buff potions, and poisons. Sages and weaponsmiths can make temporary bonus weapon adornments. Due to the constant demand and consumption of these items, they're a decent money maker. Also if you're willing to craft till your cross eyed, a Woodworker could potentially make a decent income from arrows. However they tend to deal with low margins, so they're not my favorite way to go since there's far more work for less benefit.

Server: AB and Lucan are likely the most heavily trafficked. Crushbone and Nagafen seem to be decent as well.

Tradeskilling:

My first tradeskiller I made as a carpenter. It gave me tangible items that didn't get outlevelled. It gave me the ability to make boxes as well. I have a great house with lots of stuff now.

My second tradeskiller I made as a Tailor. Again, it gave me a perpetually useful item, bags. Also I could begin making cloth and leather armor (and whips).

My third and fourth TS'er I made a provisioner and a woodworker. Can always sell food, and arrows get expensive (to sell and buy :P).

Thats me though, it might be best for me but not others.

Class...class...hrmm....thats a bit tough to suggest really. I like zerkers and pallies as tankers personally. Don't know though, I suggest at least giving them a shot.

Welcome back to Norrath :)

If you are settling on a 'tanker', then I would suggest ALCHEMIST. 1) as noted above, you can make potions, poisons, etc., so you would then make money. AND 2) you get to make you own combat arts @ Expert !! (much better than paying someone else.) 2 birds with 1...

I believe Crushbone is the highest in population that is not a roleplaying or PVP server. I second the tip to create at your usual playing time, if you have one, and see what's at the top. I play at random times, and Crushbone has always seemed good to me though. If you're going to be a fighter class, I'd go alchemest as well. Make your own skills, and poisons usually sell well.As for the ecnomoy, most servers are kinda messed up. Lots of low level items are priced way to high, transmuters like to buy the items to destroy them and level up. On the other hand, there's nothing stopping you from selling adepts and treasured+ gear you're not going to use for some good coin, as well. You don't need to buy much at those levels.. You get good armor from questing (at least in TD and Darklight Wood, not sure how the other areas are these days.. but anyone can go to TD), and you level up quick enough that you don't really need adepts - although again, if you're an alchemist you can make whatever spells you want for yourself.

The moneymaker is harvesting!!! regulars, rare, shinies, treasured and above loot! Sell it on the broker.

Tradeskilling is a money/time sink for ( randomly made up but large percentage of folks ) If you join a friendly, medium to large size guild there is almost always a tradeskill lover around to help a returning player and feel good about themseves for doing so. They may not be available immediately, but many players are willing to contact you back when they have time if yer both still online for a "guildy"

Ratonga have more fun, its true! plus we luckier on drop rates of stuff! and cute. Never underestimate the power of cute.

There are a lot of other moneymakers, many of them involving tradeskilling, or playing the broker. Risking plat to make more plat. With harvesting you are risking time to make plat, this includes harvesting of mobs bodies and the chests they drop =D
