It is hard to get up-to-date spell info since things change a lot. In all my searches on Inquest it takes power from target and gives it to the caster (Inquisitor). Based on the topic just below this, that is obviously not true. Plus I just read a post that said that Inquest is an awsome solo skill.

So how does inquest actually work?

Inquest is a buff you put on yourself or a group member and everytime that person attacks it has a chance to give you power. I don't know where the power comes from, but it doesn't really matter... all that's important is that it procs power regen on you.

In a nut shell, Inquest is a targeted buff that works similar to in terms of how a Phantom Handle operates. Basically when this melee buff procs, it gives the buff's caster back some free mana. This helps make mana less of an issue if an Inquisitor is using a phantom shod and Inquest, which is advantageous for chain soloing mobs.

The previous Inquest thread was basically a gripe about how the mana granting buff wasn't proc'ing as often as it should.

Neat. I'm somewhat newer to Inquisitor, so it's good to know. Thanks for the head's up.

To summarize: I can cast Inquest on myself and I will get mana back on 10% of my successful melee or spell attacks. I will first get the spell at level 45.

So I would have a question that sticks to the topic: on which class should we cast the Inquest (in gourp play) for highest efficiency:

- melee dps with short delay weapons?- any dps caster?

I can only answer for myself and this is how I do.1. Rogues (unless they suck)2. Enchanters (unless they suck)3. Berzerkers (unless they suck and it's a single mob fight)4. Dirge (guess)I prefer Rogues and I know others that say chanters are better for it. It depends on the fight really, in a fight where the chanter needs to power feed alot of people and do non-dps things it's no good. Zerkers are good for fights with lots of mobs, Inquest procs on AoE attacks and each mobs counts separatly so lots of chances for procs. Same deal with Swashies, lots of mobs, lots of power.Dirges, yes, some work, some don't it's really player dependant. Problem here is if people start dying and they need to rez.Chanters are good, fast casting spells and lots of them, but TSO raids eats chanters so they die quite a bit.Generally it's actaully less class dependant then player dependant. A crappy Brigand player that doesn't time their attacks won't proc Inquest as much as a good player that plays a Dirge and times their attacks. What you don't want is a class with slow casting spells/attacks, warlock for example. I tested this aswell, on a very good warlock and it doesn't do much. Summoners can work in a pinch if you get stuck in a really crappy group. If I get a group that the 'prefered' player ganks agro all the time and dies I put Inquest on someone else rather then recast it every time they pull agro and die.Stay away from Assassins... Rangers can work, but again, you need a very good one.

in a pickup grp situation its best to try it on everyone. if the player is "good" it doesnt matter what class they are playing. i start with the tank and work my way down cause if the tank goes down your grp is prolly done anyway.

in a raid situation i prefer a good ranger same flow of mana no matter the situation and they tend to live thru things squishies wouldnt.
