Epic weapons and gear

<p> Hello everyone,</p><p> I am just now returning to the game after a little over a year layoff. I started my toon as a paladin and betrayed him to sk. He was in a guild and now is roaming the street of Freeport with noone to run with. He is a level 78 sk and about half way through that level. I was wondering a few things. When can I hope to go after my epic weapons. Where do I start the quests or challenges for these. Do I have to obtain anything before starting out. And I am also seeking some advice on gear. I am a long time gamer. Been playing online for almost 15 years. I learn fast but forget a lot. I can handle myself solo, but would prefer traveling in groups. So please offer up any advice you are willing to part with. I do believe after playing several other online games this will be my game of choise. <At least till the A D D kicks back in></p><p> By the way, I play on everfrost server. So anyone willing to put up with a smartarse player that helps more than he asks for help Look me up there. Have been in a few of the larger guilds and looking for a permanent home. Have serveral crafters 2 level 80 crafters and one of everything most around 50sih. Love to do writs and build up the guild.</p><p> Names to seek out Barthuelock 78sk. <p>The SK fabled epic weapon quest from the RoK expansion can be started when you are level 80, and begins in the mage tower in North Freeport.  A full quest walkthrough is available <a href="http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/They_Have_Searched_an_Age_for_a_Dark_Champion..." target="_blank">here</a>. </p><p>However, the quest has several prerequisites that you will need to have completed prior to being able to finish the quest.. so you can begin working on those anytime, if you are missing them.  The prerequisites are:</p><ol><li>You must have completed the heritage quest <a title="Dragoon K'Naae of the Thexians" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/wiki/Dragoon_K%27Naae_of_the_Thexians"><span style="color: #002bb8;">Dragoon K'Naae of the Thexians</span></a> </li><li>You must understand the <a title="Sathirian" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/wiki/Sathirian"><span style="color: #002bb8;">Sathirian</span></a> language which can be learned by the collection <a title="A Mysterious Black Tome" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/wiki/A_Mysterious_Black_Tome"><span style="color: #002bb8;">A Mysterious Black Tome</span></a> </li><li>You must have at least 50,000 faction with <a title="Category:Residents of Teren's Grasp (Faction)" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/wiki/Category:Residents_of_Teren%27s_Grasp_(Faction)"><span style="color: #002bb8;">Residents of Teren's Grasp</span></a> </li><li>You must have at least 40,000 faction with <a title="Category:The City of Jinisk (Faction)" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/wiki/Category:The_City_of_Jinisk_(Faction)"><span style="color: #002bb8;">The City of Jinisk</span></a> </li></ol><p>The fabled epic will be the only weapon you need (unless you are able to finish the mythical quest that follows, in which case THAT will be the only weapon you need) until the next level cap expansion.</p><p>For armor, if you have the TSO expansion, the best gear available accessible by those who aren't raiding end-game content is shard armor.  Might want to review <a href="http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Void_Shard_Mission_System" target="_blank">this</a> for details on earning shards.  Once you collect some shards, be sure to find a crafter to make the armor, as this costs fewer shards than buying them from the merchant in Moors.</p>
