I often run 2 instances of EQ2 on my comp because I have 2 accounts, and when I do I turn my graphics down to reduce lag. However if I'm just using one account I like to turn those graphics up a notch or two.

Whereas previously it would take just a few seconds to do this, since the LU I've noticed it taking FAR longer to change performance settings. I'll lag out for a minute or longer waiting for the change to take place. This can happen whether I'm turning my graphics "up" or "down", but it definitely happens more often when I am shooting for improved quality.

It doesn't always happen but it usually does. Has this issue been brought up recently (I don't see it as a topic in recent posts but I admit I didn't run an actual search)? Has anyone else experienced a problem with this?

I noticed that changing settings takes a lot longer than it ever did before. It used to take about 3 seconds to go from Very High Quality down to High, or vice versa -- now it takes 30 seconds - 1 minute.

Try it out in Teren's Grasp (which must be the worst area of the game for performance, anyhow, but makes this problem very ntoiceable).

Also, I notice there is serious rendering lag of about 1 second delay in loading textures on the character select screen, and this has also never happened before. This is obvious by the textures looking like they are at the very lowest setting -- and then 1 second later they load in at max quality. It happens when clicking between toons at character select.

It also seems that it is a memory issue of some type causing textures not to cache / cache / dump improperly from memory -- because it is only happening after several hours of gameplay. The longer gameplay seems the longer delay in swapping textures.

Not sure what all changed but it's been this way since last buig update. Pretty silly ... but hopefully being worked on.

Ara

My machine it can take up to 5 minutes. With a 50/50 chance of an OOM or crash.
