Crusaders with 6.0 delay weapons have more leeway to spam CA/spells in b/w AA's

on guard autoattack was like 60-80% dmg on sk 40-60% , all depending on encounter and aa spec/grp buffs - just from my expirience

Relative damage from autoattack varies of course by class, gear, AAs, buffs, and phase of the moon. In most cases the bulk of my bruiser's damage comes from CAs. That is very class dependent. I'd expect autoattack to be much more important for monks.

For timing, I just set up a chat window showing only my own combat. It clearly states when I autoattack. With that I just watch for the messages and get a rhythm. I might miss time a couple autoattacks here and there but that's not going to have a big impact on dps.

For a quick and dirty, if my weapon speed adjusted for haste etc. is over about 2 seconds I try to do two CAs, pause, 2 more, etc. (for CAs with a fast windup which is almost all of them). If I manage to get under 2 seconds I do one CA and pause. It's not perfect but it's usually good enough. If I loose a couple autoattacks in a one minute fight that's only going to reduce my DPS by 33 assuming I do an average of 1000 damage per autoattack. About the only place that's going to matter is if I'm in a [Removed for Content] contest with someone over who can parse the best and that's just not worth it.

For really long fights, I suppose just doing a short pause after each attack will work as long as you get them all done before they start recycling. For the long fights there's less and less to gain by hitting your CAs as fast as you can up front then having to sit around and not do much while waiting for them to recycle.

Ok, it's not high tech and it doesn't use add ins but it's a good quick and dirty.

I tried this timing aa to ca's and it became boring. So for me to have fun again I just use ca's as they become available and let auto attack worry about itself. Yeah many want to be king of the hill and that is cool but honestly this is a just game for me and not a competition. Honestly any thing I achieve in this game will not get me a discount on my groceries at the super market or lower my insurance costs.
