Nagafen server upgrade

<p><strong>I was just curious to know if all the new hardware upgrades are going well. Does everything seem to be going as planned? Or are we looking at another push for the server merger? I still see lag on Nagafen, no where near as much. The broker lag is still pretty bad. Got any info for us Kiara?</strong></p>

<p>hardware? the database backend seems to get better and better by the updates, as with the old bank it has some holes that yet need to be filled in. but being a fresh bank and the promptness of the debugging, I think they are much easier to spot.</p>

<p>/Shrug. I haven't noticed any improvements, so I hope they havent added any of the 'massive' stuff yet - that would be dissappointing.</p><p>I'm mainly speaking of Kylong plains, obviously. The spell lag is just ridiculous when theres more than 40-50 of your faction in zone fighting.</p><p>For the person that planned on quoting this with something like "Well leave KP and pvp elsewhere fool!" - Nah, I like tokens, but thanks. I'll do just that once I've got all the gear I want, and don't mind only finishing like two writs a day.</p>

Obviously they have announced another DB upgrade 15th of October (check out Official News and Announcements board), but I doubt it has anything to deal with server hardware upgrade that was planned for Nagafen. Most likely they will be doing that at the same time as PVP server merge.

<p>they didnt do any hardware upgrade to naggy yet, they did a database upgrade and that quickly failed and they had to go back to the old database.</p><p>so id say the merger will be delayed again..</p>

<p>There will be a more official post soon, but tentatively the plan is to try the DB upgrade again on this Tuesday and push the server merge back two days until Thursday.  We will be using a different method to export/import the data from the old Nagafen database to the new one.  The advantage to this method is that we will avoid the problems we had with the other method, but this time it'll be slower.  We'll most likely schedule a 12 hour maintenance window starting at Midnight PST and ending noon PST.  If the upgrade goes faster (which we hope it will), we'll bring the servers up sooner.  This downtime will affect Nagafen, Butcherblock and  Lucan D'lere.</p><p>For obviously reasons we don't want to plan the DB upgrade and server merge during the same maintenance period. We will post more info soon.</p>

<p>I'll drop the mushroom zones for the database upgrade this month thank you.</p><p>I hope they get that merge by the timeline they put forth or else theres going to be a riot in Qeynos and Freeport.</p>

We will post more info soon.</p></blockquote><p>Well thanks for the update, we have heard rumors of this on venekor but no offical word on the matter, but just curious why is it when you all give this info is late at night or on the weekend? Less to deal with while sleeping maybe? Why not sooner, I mean we heard it being pushed back 2 days ago and now its offical? Any ways hope it all works out we got ppl on this server planning to cancle accounts if its delayed too much longer.</p>

<p>As long as the merger is happening, you could bring the servers down for a whole day and I would be happy.  Merger = Happy PvP population.</p><p>Besides, last time server issues interrupted the Moonlight Enchantments, those servers got extented time on the event.</p>
