this started happening after I updated my nvidia GeForce 8500 GTS card to the latest driver. Every time I zoned into JW on my Illusionist right in front of VP, the game keeps getting an error saying the program encountered a critical error and must be shut down. it always does this, even after a restart.

I don't know where to find the error log on my computer, but this is really making me mad, and having me unable to play EQ2 ever. Any help please?

so far the game still runs if I don't click close on the error window, and it seems to run fine.

I had the similar problem with the latest nvidia drivers (191.07), on my system (OS : XP)

If i don't close the error window too, it works. I saw similar problem when the program is in conflict with the Data Execution Prevention of Windows XP.

Anyway, i check the drivers supported by Everquest II (http://help.station.sony.com/cgi-bi...p?p_faqid=16089), and on XP, it is always 190.38 ... but more recent for the others system.

I reverted back to 190.38, so, and no more this kind of issue.

Greetings,

Yes, Nvidia driver releases have been really bad for a few months here. I would actually advise using the 189.xx series of drivers until they release a better version.

I'd like to add an odd error to the Nvidia 191.07 zoo:

First, my system, in brief:

Vista 64, AMD quad, 8 Gig RAM, 1.2 TB RAID, GTX 295 Graphics card, with latest, 191.07 drivers.

The problem...I have to have heat bloom effects enabled, if I don't, most of the screen is black. Makes no difference whether I enable SLI mode or not.
