Hi all.

I played Eq2 just fine last week, high ping at 500´ish but I play from Europe so no issue with that, but on last Friday, the 9 th, I started experiencing these extreme ping rates of upto 5000 and seconds of spikes rendering the game unplayable. After a while I started EQ2 without the launch pad and all was good again. I was down to my usual ping with no spikes at all. Now at roughly 5 hours ago the problem reappeared again, even though i´m running the game directly and not from the launchpad i´m still getting crazy spikes and unusally high ping even while travelling, around 1000- 3500.

I tried to put graphcs on max performance in- game but that didn´t help the spiking at all so I guess it´s a networking problem. I tried to bypass my router and insert the cable directly from the wall to my computer with no difference in ping or spikes.

Problem somewhat solved now. Turns out only 2 characters in-game had these issues and since they were low level I just deleted them.

Greetings,

Assuming this isn't an ISP issue then it's probably being caused by a router. I would advise bypassing your router and plugging your computer directly into the modem as a first step. If you try that and it corrects your issue then you'll need to configure your router if you wish to continue using it.The following site has great information about router configuration:http://www.portforward.com/english/...routerindex.htmSimply select the router you are using, then select the 'skip this advertisement' button in the upper right, and finally select Everquest 2 on the following page. You will then be presented with a walkthrough on how to forward the correct ports. Please respond if you need any further assistance.

The game is still acting up for me and I´ve already tried bypassing my router altogether on numerous occations. I did the pathping and tracert and sent it to my ISP and according to them nothing is wrong on their end and after submitting a ticket to you guys with the answer that the problem must be with my ISP i´ve given up

Sorry but I won´t pay for a game I cannot play.

Hmm can you post that Tracert and pathping here?

When I lived in Europe and played on a US server, I had some lag issues as well.

Also, what server are you on? Some servers have Lag issues due to an abundant population
