Ok so the description says it "add additional trigger chance increase to PotM"

I recently got my shoulders which puts me a 5 pieces and it ends up reading "Increases trigger rate of all gear by 33%" to the PotM spell.

So I take that as PotM which is now raidwide increases the gear trigger procs by 1/3 for the raid while it is active.

My question is: is this made less or mute by the recent proc changes about items not being enhanced?

I feel like I looked into this a while back and found that no, this is the exact method devs intended buffing procs to work an it was more of a proc of a proc thing they didn't account for that was nerfed... but now that it matters to me I wanted to check/confirm. Anyone know for sure?

You might want to reread that description again. It should say that it increases the trigger chance of PotM, not the trigger chance of procs on gear.

Desolate Aria adds 33% to item proc triggers as intended, sony is however patching more and more item procs to be non-modifiable.

See thats the part I don't understand, how do you increase the trigger proc of PotM when its at 100% already. This puts it over 100% so it can proc twice on one cast sometimes or what?

Item triggers. puts a 1.8 procs per minute item to around 2.1 At least for those they haven't "fixed" to not be affected by it.

Ok, so I was right in my original concern.

Basically the Troub 5 set x4 bonus was put in at launch, when the put in all the other proc items.

Post launch devs found they put too many items that could buff procs so procs buffed procs in a cascade fashion and were way overpowered.

The fix to this, is that recently devs made TONS of procs on gear 'not modified by anything other than direct means' or whatever.

So some direct spell procs still work, but most do not.

I guess my final question is does this added proc benefit count as 'direct means' or not, because it comes from a gear buff.

If it is being nerfed as a byproduct of the overpowered gear in the game (which itself was a sloppy quick fix IMO), then I think troubs have something to complain about here.,

I would ask a troub buddy thats got the full TSO x4 set, but he's not on atm.

If it doesn't affect all gear, I think they should change it to behave like sigil of heroism for the paladins. Sigil (transfers 36% of groups hate for 20 seconds) effectively would have given the paladins negative hate transfer after all was said and done had they not done something to it, so they made it function independant of the hate rules as there was no way to fix it after the xfer cap was put into play. Seeing as this is a major set bonus, imo it deserves to function all the time, especially since it says "all equipment" on the description.

Some items, like the Ykeshan hoop of pestilence won't get boosted, and there seems to be a significant creep as to what items can and can not have it's proc rate modified. If Sony intends to phase out proc boosts altogether, then give us something worthwhile.

Guild mate told me last night that all the nerfs have that 'other than direct means' language on them, and that the bonus is treated as a 'direct means' for some stuff, and not for others.

So it isn't as bad as never working, but still sounds broken if its random or we can't tell what it works on.
