This is not the memory problem causing multiple crashes - I had that too after the patch. Turned down textures and settings so everything looks crappy but no more crashing due to outrageous memory demands.

Then yesterday this massive lag problem started, every time I have logged in yesterday and today. There is nothing different about my system or my connection/ISP - everything else on my comp works just like always. Only EQ2 is so incredibly laggy that going to zones with aggro mobs is just suicide. My hot keys stick to my cursor and get scrambled up and the mobs kill my character because I can't respond or move or control the camera. This is totally unacceptable.

What the heck is going on???

I have to sign the previous statement. I have exactly the same problems. Game worked just fine earlier but now i´m getting lagspikes of 3-5 seconds mid- fight, while travelling everywhere. I logged in just a few minutes ago and fought 4 enemies with lags in all fights and twice during a few feet of travelling.

Has anything changed in the last hotfix?

Might add that i´m playing from Europe and I have tried going to abare minimum on graphic settings so I know it´s not graphics lag.

Edit: Tried to run the game again bypassing my router and end result still the same. Go kicked after jst 2 minutes in game after the ping reached 4200 consistently.

Seems to be a launchpad issue. After running the game directly with Everquest2.exe instead of the launchpad the problem is gone and i´m back to my usual pingrates.

Does that work for you Qaeowin?

Thank you for the suggestion, but no this doesn't change anything for me

Make sure you run the .exe file as administrator and in 2003 server compatibility mode. Other then that I have no idea what could be wrong sorry.

The problem is that my framerate goes from around 35 to 3 after a minute or two in the game.

I'm having this exact same issue. And while a router issue is entirely possible, I somehow find it dubious that suddenly a bunch of people start having a problem with their routers all at about the same time? In my case, bypassing the router isn't an option, as my router is my modem as well (comcast jobbie...not my idea, was here when i moved in).

And my more detailed description would be as follows:

Log in to toon and framerate sits at ~80+

Walk around, kill a few mobs and framerate drops to 8-19 on extreme performance settings

Die a few times because mobs react faster than i can FD

Framerates return to original and pwng continues

Kill a few more things and problem repeats

Any more info would be very appreciated

Turned out that the little bitty fan on my video card had quit. So everything was fine at first until the card had time to overheat and dump my framerate. My husband popped in a new card and all is well. Just one of those odd things you can't anticipate, but since my husband built my computer he figured out to take a look at the hardware just in case. I am grateful I married a serious geek!

Wish my issues was resolved like that. I downloaded the newest driver for my 8800 GTX and it didn't change anything. One thing that struck me as odd that I hadn't thought of before is that my problem began friday (10/16). Wasn't that the day that the Night of the Dead event started? I don't believe in coincidences. Is it possible that something in the live event could be affecting me.

As an aside note, this is happening to me on more than one character and in more than one zone. Really a PITA to drop to, at some points, 5 fps on a Mynzak fight!
