Are there any important Ayr'Dal in history worth noting? I know that Antonia Bayle has Elven blood in her... though you couldn't prove it by looking at her, but I digress.I ask because as I sat infront of the TV, bored out of my mind, my mind wandered to something a coustomer had asked me today... which eventually twisted itself into the world of EQ.Anyways, I was thinking, there are some very notable people 'represanting' the various races of Norrath, and seeing as Half-Elves are my favorite race in the game, I was wondering if there were any of importance.

Eh.... any important Halflings, Sarnak, Frogloks or Ratonga, either?

I can think of at least one person for almost every race but the ones I mentioned... so whose the 'in' crowd in thier races?

Thanks

Important Ayr'Dals ... hmm ... Sionachie Heartsinger ... she was a bard and a companion of Firiona Vie during EQLive era.

And, well, I suppose you could include Twiddy Bobick (a halfling) of the Ethernauts among the notable people of Norrath. It might depends where on the scale of importance one might put him at. He designed the airship that the Ethernauts traveled with until its crash.

Also maybe Fiddy Bobick, also a halfling, as well - he pops up fairly frequently in EQ2.

Important halflings? Denmom...oh you mean like from in-game sources?

There is the Drafling (half-dragon, half-halfling).

umm...humm...Brenlo...Ashere...

Dunno why but most of the community reps seem like they are halflings.

Bristlebane...oh wait does he count?

Oh! Can't forget Domino or Rothgar!

Two Devs that have in-game halfling avatars that are lore. Rothgar procides over his band in Kaladim, and I could swear I've seen Domino pop up in-game for something or other. Maybe that LoN band? Hmm...now I'm not sure.

I actually cannot think of any famous Frogloks from EQ or EQ2 other than a couple of named frogloks from Guk and Sebilis.

Half Elves..... yeah, there's really not many other than Sionachie Heartsinger from Firiona Vie's adventures. If I recall, her namesake was used for some rather important bard items as well. The race in whole really doesn't have any cultural history because they've always been split between two races and usually adapted to one culture or the other. The dragon Rizlona in the Tower of Solusek Ro took on the appearance of a Half Elf as she guarded the Dresolisk Crystal though. I think she was the guardian.. I don't remember for sure.

Halflings: Fiddy Bobbick, Twiddy Bobbick, The Drafling, and Squire Fuzzmin are probably the only ones really noteworthy.

Sarnaks: None. Not for the Gorowynian Sarnaks that players play as, anyway. The Bathezid royal family and Korocust of the old Sarnaks are pretty infamous though.

Ratonga: There is Caertix, who some ratonga worship as a diety, even though he's just another mortal who managed to grow a cult following.

Rizlona was actually a Half Elf to begin with, she was a bard who worshipped Solusek Ro. When I still played EQ1 and was digging around for in-game scrolls and books to add to my website, I found a scrap of paper from something PoP related (iirc) and this is what it said:[EDIT] Or, I might have gotten this from one of the PoP lore write ups that was posted on EQ Live, it's been a while.

Rizlona is a demi-goddess residing in a chamber of her own inside Solusek Ro’s Tower. She was a half elven bard in her mortal years upon Norrath. She was a fierce combatant, lending her song to battle. Her songs always included praise to Solusek and the power that he granted her through song. Rizlona earned the recognition of Solusek Ro by invoking his name to give her power and strength on the battlefield. She ascended to his service countless years past. Many songs have been named after Rizlona’s fiery might.

Ahh yes, that's right. I was thinking that she was that gold dragon you fight elsewhere in the same zone.

Rizlona's Fiery Musicbox is an item in EQ2, apparentely found somewhere in the Shimmering Citadel.

Since I think that Half-elves can breed with themselves (Going to have to re-create a half elf Qeynosian again to doublecheck the racial quests) it might be soon that they develope their own culture beyond the 'rebel'.

The Ayr`Dal hold no illusions of granduer for hope that they'll overcome the Overlord, but they will slowly chip away at his powerstructure, one officer's slit neck at a time.

One noteable Half Elf in EQ2 is Xilania Nevagon, the Seraph of Hate,.. in Neriak of all places.. *coughs*... shes she shares ties to the Overlord somehow but thats always been kept quiet.

I would think they could breed together, as Half-Elves DO have thier own culture. And they have thier own langauge as well.... which is known by every Ayr'Dal in Norrath... even if the langauge was made up in Freeport... the likely hood of it spreading and have been known by every Ayr'Dal in norrath is unlikely.

Hmm... anyways, speaking of Half-Elves, I guess I should taken Dancer into account before I posted the question. Not seen her since KoS, but hopefully we'll see her take another active role in Norrath soon. (All those Eurdites floating all over the place give me the creeps...)

Anyways... important might have not been the correct wording... more like 'anyone who has popped up in game or in lore...'

The Boddicks's... yea... how could I forget about them? I have seen thier name a few times before... I just don't know WHY they are important.

Sarnaks... I met any and all... not just the Gorowynians...

As for Frogloks... I can't believe there aren't any?! Aren't they Marr's chosen? Hmmm... I guess he should have chosen something that wasn't so tastey.

Meirril... yes, in game sources but thanks for making me laugh. Though... if we were to use Dev's as examples of anyone representing thier race to the fullest... it'd have to be Vhalen; dropping in on the forums to give us a little taste of something major then leave us wanting more.

Anyways, thanks for the replys.

~Oh... and, before I forget... what about Halasians... I couldn't think of any Barbarians of note in lore either. :/

For famous types; well, of course, there's Firiona Vie and all her allies/enemies, which covers nearly all the races (although don't ask me to list all the characters, I can't remember them)

For Sarnaks, well, there is Gorowyn himself (or was it herself? I can't remember) the one who first led the Gorowynian Sarnaks in an uprising against the Di'Zok Sarnaks.

As far as half elves go in EQ2:

Dancer

Xilania Nevagon, seraph of hate (also plays an important role in the SK epic questline). I always thought it brilliant of Inny to choose an Ayr'Dal as his representative on Norrath.

Nybright (I can't recall the exact name of the leaders atm, but they are a faction in Lfay, a lot of them are half elves. Whether they are truly important can be debated though, although I've seen at least one pop up in the peacock club)

Then there's a myriad of half elf npc's scattered throughout the game. You can find some lightly blue-skinned ones in darklight woods. Also, the beachpirates in DoF are all half elves.
