Ok first off let me say I have three accounts and three computers all running windows xp.... Only one out of three was crashing after zoning several times. I couldnt understand it because these systems are almost identical.. So i started looking at the graphical settings. Under options/display/textures the three settings were set to maximum on the pc that was crashing. The two that are stable were set at high quality textures. So what i did was change the crashing PC to high quality textures instead of maximum and played for two hours zoning to KP twice, the guild hall etc... Never crashed and also noticed there was not near as much memory being allocated to eq2. Just to test it I was in the guild hall and changed the texture resolution on the character textures to maximum and got an immediate memory crash. It seems that all the textures loading are using up all the memory when they load. I hope this can help someone else until a permanent fix is made! If it doesnt work for you.. sorry just trying to help!

If you could, let us know if you've noticed a substatial difference or not since that patch. It would certainly help.

Some friends asked me to play again after this last patch and all I can say is [Removed for Content] happened to the performance ?

I have a decent game rig that rips everything else up on max settings but this game gets 8-20 FPS on max? I cant even group due to the memory leak/issue causing crashes due to lack of memory errors.

Honestly a 5 year old graphics system this bogged down and unstable is very sad.

Core 2 @ 3.8hz GTX285 (1gb) Raptor X's in raid 0 and 4 gigs of very fast ram and ONLY this game has issues.

No way am I going to play on Ballanced settings with the money spent to run it at MAX!

Please fix this or you will loose even more paying customers.

No difference to my PC but I've only got 1.5GB.

Crashed in middle of SQ after zoning Nek Forest (on login), Mara, TS, Nek, CoQ then crash...but I played in Nek happily for over 4 hrs with no problems. Its just when zoning too much it happens.

Strangely, when the game crashed I could still play it since it auto-minimised but only the environment that had already got loaded would display so the streets consisted of lots of doors and some streetlamps I tried zoning to Nettleville but the game crashed on "Creating Zone" unsuprisingly.

This has worked a treat for me (so far). On my MBP running Win7 under bootcamp I never got the crash, but my main rig (phenom x3 720be, ati 5870, 4gb ram) running win7 was crashing with out of memory almost every 3rd zone, or guaranteed leaving the Guild Hall.

Difference - MBP on balanced, desktop on Very High with textures at max.

Drop desktop back to balanced, or even VH with textures at high and it's not crashed on the last 15 zones.

I've been wrestling with this problem FOR EVER and I'm frankly frustrated beyond belief right now. The last patch doubled my memory crash rate and the crash rates of everyone I've spoken with. I've tried turning texture resolution down and that hasn't fixed it. I used to crash specifically when zoning into Zarrakon's Abyssal Chamber, a fairly simple zone. I'm crashing EVERY other zone now.

I'm willing to provide any information requested assuming it will actually be looked at instead of being redirected to some other thread to post with 1,000,000 other people.

My crash rate certainly hasn't lowered, might even have gone up. This is getting very frustrating.

I have been having the same problem. I usually get a crash about every 20-40 minutes or so. Can't go into dungeons or my home city (neriak). For a few days it was working excellent. I even turned my graphics settings up about 3 times what they were. Then, recently, I got confident and decided to go to Crushbone Keep (so I lowered ALL of my grahpics and texture settings to their absolute lowest). Of course I got punished for trying to do something cool.. like raid a dungeon with 6 guys from my guild or to the bank. Since then the game has not been the same. All of my settings are still at their lowest (including particles, lighting, and rendering distances). After about 3 or 4 crashed loading into Neriak (stupid gm spawned me there after cbk) I decided to *really* clean my system and leave my memory manager running when I got in the game. I got into the game with 400 of 520 mb of ram free... The zone loaded, but crashed shortly thereafter, nothing strange, right? The game said it crashed asking for 500 bytes and the memory was full 520/520-- but my memory manager never went below 83,886,080 of free space. Why would there be a problem requesting 500 bytes from a system that has 167772 times more memory than that? Beyond that, why is eq saying that I dont have any memory avaliable? Beyond that, why was the game functioning perfectly before the CBK crashes.. could these crashes be physically damaging my computer?
