just wondering im starting to notice a huge number of people using them in pvp.. im not just talking about 1 or 2 a day. im talking about i see atleast 10 people on a average day across all tiers speed hacking there butts off.. i dont even bother doing a /petetion anymore cause it does no good...

T8 pvp has the most problems with speed hackers wich i dont know why sinc eyou worked hard to gear your toon at 80 just to risk a /ban

what i dont get is why there is no programs in eq2 to detect speed hacks.. how in the world when almost every MMO to date has 3rd party dectection software eq2 still does not... i mean when you can google eq2 speed hacks and find one and have it installed in a matter of minutes then somthing is wrong...

so devs either work on a system to detect it. or just come out and support it.. im so sick of doing the /petetions and waiting for about a day before you guys even respond that you even got my petetion...

last thing i could care less if i saw a person using one for disco but once it starts people using it not just to get away in pvp but to use it while fighting to warp everywhere so you cant target them but they have NP hiting you is crazy..

maybe i should just start taking some fraps of these people and post them on the formus. bet anything though if i did that then the devs would not ban them but go after me

If there was a risk to getting banned then fewer people would be doing it.

Anyways another reason why I /quitpvp. Ugh this game fails more by the day -.-

99% of what people see and think is a "speed hack" is nothing more than one of these 3 things showing some kind of lag. Sure "sometimes" it is a hack, but "most" times its actually not.

#1 your client/provider lag

#2 their client/provider lag

#3 server/provider lag

Combined with the lag is the possibility that a person is geared for mobility in PvP. Most of the time when I PvP in TG I equip a certain set of items and get my runspeed to 90% self buffed, I than throw on a pair of the "jumpy-boots", allowing me to move very fast, hell, I can jump straight across the cliff on either side of the ramp in TG with this set up. Combine this with the fact that TG is going to lag like hell, it is very easy to get massive warping and such in PvP.

I hear people bragging about speed hacking. See it occasionally. I actually saw it up at tg yesterday. Someone obviously wanted a writ pretty bad and started teleporting rediculously fast. I miss those little lvl 9 bots in karnors castle that would lag the whole zone out while teleporting past you at 4000% run speed.

Lotta people at 100% run speed now, speed hacking or xp has a distinct appearance to it. Too bad run speed is capped. Would be fun to run down those using 3rd party programs.

The amount of hacking has raised lately. Petitioned quite a few people. And we are not talking about server/client lag. Im talking about people that can be at one end of the zone and be at the other side within 5 seconds. Done some excellent teamwork with GMs to catch some. They wont do anything unless they see it with their own eyes because there is way too many people who cant see the difference between lag warps and actual speed hacking.

I forgot where I heard this but a GM has to be there and witness the speed hacking in person since videos and pics can be edited.

Guld_Ulrish wrote:

If I frap it and show it to a GM?

I dont know if they accept those. I petitioned the players, had the gm put the petition on waiting customer and was asked to answer to that petition as soon as the player is on. I then would proceed to go to the player with the gm hiding invisible for players and attack him. He would start warping away in like 500 % run speed. Those were easy catches for the gm then. Might aswell try it with the fraps, should be able to see the difference in lag and actuall speed hacking.

If you believe that a person is using a hack, it is always better to inform the GM's and let them investigate it.

Thank you!

So how do you tell the difference between lag/warp and speed hacking ? I frapsed someone warping like crazy the other day but can't say if a hack was involved.
