Last night after getting home from work I was excited that I might get to play EQ2 on MY computer instead of my room-mates... seeing as I finally got around to replacing the hard drive that got torn apart by a virus...

After all the installing, etc of programs I needed... I was very excited to finally get to putting EQ2 onto my computer until...

For reasons un-be-known, TSO disc I bought way back win isn't reading anymore... it isn't even registaring it my my disc drive anymore. It's not my disc drive... it's reading every other disc... and the disc is spotless.

Fine... I can sorta live with this... just a quick download off the web... which I hate to do but whatever.

Now though... it says it'll take DAYS to finish downloading. 55hours?! I canceled the download... started over again. 2hours. Good... great... until it got to 10seconds of downloads and shot back up to 30hours.

Grant it I'm not a genuis when it comes to computers... but this seems a bit rediculous. The only answer I seem to find to speed it up is to use the station launch pad... which I AM using... and my wireless (and computer in general) are better than my room-mates and it only took a couple hours to install on his. So... what's the deal? Is there anything else that could be bogging down the download that I'm probably not aware of... or is it just the SOE Gods messing with me?

Use the Station Launcher if you can. I've used it to install EQ2 (full download) and the maximum wait I've had was 45 minutes on my work machine, 6 of us sharing an internet connection so that's still pretty decent. At home, it took about 30 minutes. Good luck!
