One is:

"There was a problem moving C:Program Files (x86)Sony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIlp_tempLegendsOfNorrathLegendsOfNorrath.dll_delt a_8193_95.patched to C:Program Files (x86)Sony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IILegendsOfNorrathLegendsOfNorrath.dll. Please try again. If the problem persists use the Help menu above for more info and help."

the other is:

"There was a problem moving C:Program Files (x86)Sony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIlp_tempEverQuest2.exe_delta_8183_279.patched to C:Program Files (x86)Sony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIEverQuest2.exe.
Annnnnd here's an interesting twist....

If I go into program files and launch eq2 from there (without station manger) eq2 launches (not a launchpad - goes right into game) asks me for my password (user already filled in) and brings me right to char select. Not even sure if I patched or not now lol.

Well, ingame atm but still would like this issue fixed - thanks!

Greetings,

This sounds like a file permissions issue. Are you using Windows 7 or Vista? If so, follow these steps first:

1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.5. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".6. Right click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator"

If the problem persists at that point then you might want to move the game to a different folder. Windows places extra security on the program files folder that can cause problems when updating. If you move the game to somewhere like C:Games then that should correct the problem.

REALLY starting to understand why people detest vista.....

Yes, I have vista and followed the steps above but still getting same error.

I made a folder calling it "EQ2" outside of the programs folders and tried to move the enitre "Sony Online Ent" folder into it and it says I do not have promission. I'm the admin, how can I not have permission? lol

Any ideas? (sorry to be such a pain)

If you have any of the programs open then close them before trying to move the folder. If you are still experiencing the issue then follow these steps to remove the read only flag:

1. Navigate to the Sony folder (Default: C:Program FilesSony)2. Right click the 'Sony' folder and select 'properties'3. Go to the 'General' tab4. Uncheck the box that says 'read-only' at the bottom of that window5. Select 'apply to all files/folders' when prompted
