Where did you download the launcher from? I would advise grabbing it from the following link for the most recent version:

http://launcher.station.sony.com/

If the problem persists at that point then you may want to do a search for 'eq2ui_mainhud_welcome.xml' on your computer and delete it. Then try repatching. Let us know if you are still unable to install at that point.

Hello,

we got the launcher form tryeverquest.com-something, cant find the site again. Deleting the file did not help.

Installing now again from http://launcher.station.sony.com/, > 9 GB, ouch. The "other" Launcher showed time to download, so guess it was an old one.

Will tell you later if the problem persists.

Thank you.

bye Rebecca

Are you using Windows Vista or 7 on that computer? If so, please try these steps:

1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.5. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".6. Right click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator"

I have Windows XP and played EQ 2 on this system half a year ago. My friend has exact the same problem with both launchers. Two other users on the german forum have that problem, too.

Isn't it possible the german trial isn't working? I doubt many people would tell you but just move on.

bye Rebecca

In fact, I just deleted my German client folder so that the game could redownload it. I made it through the entire download process without error.

The error you're describing is usually caused by a file permissions issue. The most common culprit would be Vista/win7, but an antivirus is possible as well. Are you using an antivirus on that computer? If so, you might want to try disabling it temporarily to see if that helps the issue.

Stopped firewall (already told not to block EQ2) and Avira AntiVir Guard, deleted file, same problem.

Installed EOF from disc (got TSO digital), now i don't have a station launcher at all and can play the trial.

Unfortunaly my friend does not have discs and i can't just give them to him (not the same city and not allowed), how can he avoid the problem with the station launcher? Is there a download without the station launcher?

bye Rebecca

Greetings,

You should be able to pick up the older launcher from the following location:

http://everquest2.station.sony.com/...m?reinstall=yes

That may allow your friend to update as well.
