Hi there,

First off I'm not sure if this should go in look and feel but since its not a design issue and more of a bug I felt the tech support forum would be more fitting.

I, as many experienced the massive memory issues after lu#53 a few days ago, and while I'm still seeing eq2 using more memory than it *should* the game is playable again since the hotfix posted the next day was patched in.

HOWEVER, since the hotfix regarding memory issues after lu53 I am facing an entirely different issue. When fighting as my defiler, I'm noticing some of his spell particles (most noteably the heroic opportunity one) are being overdrawn most of the time they are rendered. What I mean by that is that, coming off the particle, as it is being drawn (fully visable as normal) a small spine of the gold particle gets drawn all the way to the edge of the screen (i can likely provide a screenshot if necessary), this looks similar to a video card artifact, however, I've rigorously tested my system to ensure stability (including another 12hrs of testing while I was away at work to make sure something hadnt gone wrong on hardware, after witnessing this bug.)

I've also spoken to other people on my server, some of which have had the same issue pop up for them, others had similar issues pre-dating lu53 but claimed that it had gotten much worse/more frequent since the update.

Any feedback as far as settings that should be changed to accomodate the new client or just a simple "we'll look into/fix it" would be very much appreciated.

My system specifications are as follows:

EVGA 750i FTW Motherboard (@400/1600fsb)

Intel Core2duo e6750 (clocked to 3.2ghz, tested multiple times 8+hrs orthos stable, and 4 1hr linpack runs in occt)

OCZ Reaper 2gb (2x1gb) DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 (run at stock setting, synced to system bus at 400mhz)

BFG 8800gt OC edition (aftermarket cooler, running at 690/996, tested also in occt, furmark and multiple back to back runs of 3dmark vantage and Farcry2 benchmark)

I'm not sure if the system specs will be useful as I've rigorously tested my hardware to make sure its not faulty at said settings, however, maybe there is some specific incompatibility with my hw and the new code introduced in Lu53.

So, sorry this is such a long post but i wanted to be as complete as possible, I'd love to hear back asap, let me know if you need a screenshot.

Thanks,

Rindeil of Blackburrow
