Paintings in Vaults of El'Arad

<p>I can't quite recall if these paintings (23 total) were present in Vaults of El'Arad prior to GU53... but the fact one of them appears in the center of the portal going upstairs leads me to believe they were not, or at least, not all of them.  Here are two, the first is the one appearing inside the portal on the first floor.</p><p><strong>Veeshan's Wake</strong> (inside the portal leading to the second floor)</p><p><img src="http://i33.tinypic.com/24y9ra0.jpg" width="445" height="300" /></p><p><strong>Slaying Redwind and a Pint of Ale </strong>(lying sideways on the floor in an alcove on the second floor)</p><p><img src="http://i34.tinypic.com/j0lnon.jpg" width="347" height="372" /></p><p>The paintings themselves are examineable in the zone as house items (they even had status reduction amounts on them).  The tag at the bottom of the paintings appears to be the same for almost all of them.</p>

<p>They've been there since KoS I noticed them back in KoS as well, CM brushwittle or someone to that effect painted them. I wish more paintings in more zones were able to be examined for this same reason.</p>

<p>A lot of those paintings are only found in Vaults. It really sucks that we can't loot those paintings. It would have been nice to choose among one of them when I picked my painting from the Collector's Edition. I chose a picture of the Plane of Sky instead, somewhat ironically.</p>

<p>hmmm well i can assure you there wasnt a painting in the middle of the spire like that, hmmm and Vaults of Elarad was the place to find the note for the first book quest.  hmmm</p><p>As for the painting itself it looks like an eq1 version of Silverwings room in Veeshans Peak... I'll go to Vaults later today and see.</p>

<p>I can't believe this has gotten more attention.  Anways, I went to check out VP and specifically Silverwing's room.  Only problem is my instance of VP was created on Tuesday before the patch, so I'm not sure if any changes would have made it into my instance.</p>

<p>I agree that I can't figure out why Veeshan's Peak.  I was trying to think of any other places it might symbolize but was coming up blank.</p>

<p>I've never been to Veeshan's Peak in EQlive or EQ2, but even I know that the painting is of Veeshan's Peak. I've traveled all those zones so many times that if you threw me back into the game right now and took away the map, I'd still be able to find everything pretty easily. I've never seen anything like that painting in EQlive, so I know it's VP by process of elimination.</p>

I've never seen anything like that painting in EQlive, so I know it's VP by process of elimination.</p></blockquote><p>Umm, we already figured that out -wink-  You can even go to the pictures on Alla's fr eq1 and click on the picture with Silverwing in the corner to know it's the same room.  We aren't debating whether or not the picture is VP but WHY VP.  What's the connection with the Quellthulians, our researcher who keeps finding thse volumes and getting them to us, and Veeshan's Peak?  Is this picture pointing us to a clue in VP or somewhere else related?  Questions...questions..questions!</p>

After seeing this post I logged back in because I was pretty darn sure I had seen at least one of those very recently.</p><p>One of those pictured my husband has in his main's house.</p><p><img src="http://bit.ly/wTMkc" width="781" height="503" /></p><p>I had chosen one from Veeshan's Peak, but it was different than the one in the OP.</p><p><img src="http://bit.ly/2zI2i4" width="737" height="523" /></p><p>Maybe I'm wrong and you'll find something in VP related to what's going on. That would be much cooler than my theory of "they have old paintings that no one can get anymore, so they figured they'd display them somehow, gosh darnit!".</p><p>/goes back to her corner</p>

<p>-nods-  there are an abundance of pictures in the Vaults and have always been there.  The strange one is the Veeshan's Wake one being stuck on the miniature ulteran spires in the Ulteran Spires room of the Vaults.  Unless someone royally screwed up some placement somewhere, this is not a place for the picture to be.</p>

That would be much cooler than my theory of "they have old paintings that no one can get anymore, so they figured they'd display them somehow, gosh darnit!".</p><p>/goes back to her corner</p></blockquote><p>That first painting of Halas has alway been laying over on its side in Vaults of El'Arad, its the one of Silverwings room that is significant, and the 2nd picture above me is of Nexona's room which is also found as a painting in Vaults as well.</p><p>But i agree the fact that that one was placed on the Teleport spires in the Vaults and the same zone just happened to be related to more recent events in the game seems more then an art error hehe.</p>

I showed him the other VP room and asked him to guess and he thought the same thing which I did: the other painting of VP is Phara Dar's room.</p>
