I have high frequency of crashes out in many different ways in eq2 last 2 days after patched ur new LU.I have done the full scan but still nothing changeSometimes just crash out, sometimes reboot pc, sometimes has error box pop out and crash.I am using window mode. Had using the same pc and all the stuffs for long time.My UI should be ok, generally are Default one with only few little windows are customed. and my ui.log file is empty (no error i assume).and btw, my EQ2 is stored in D drive and my E drive is DVD-ROM (alertlog mention to E drive and i got no idea why)Please help me asap and lead me to fix it...sometimes i can even crash every 10mins or so...sometimes if lucky can stay a hr w/o crash. Greetings,The most common cause for the issue you're reporting would be a corrupt file in your Everquest 2 directory. You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.iniLet us know if the issue persists after trying those steps.

now we are getting told this is a bad file? I know of a few post concerning the same issue (crashing because of out of memory) that is identical to this and we were told a fixed client was incoming. The fixed client didn't repair the issue EQ2 is sitll using way too much memory and many of us have done exactly what you just said to do and still having the issue. Not to mention the hours of resetting our UI's to correct placement of windows etc.When I load EQ2 it is using 720k memory and later grows to over 1.2 gigs of memory then bang crash.

It is worth trying a redownload of the UI files if crashing after a patch, though, since that is the most common cause for a crash after an update. Also, the steps I mentioned request that you back up the files so that you can restore them if the fix doesn't work. Assuming you don't have a corrupt UI file, you shouldn't need to rearrange any windows at all.

This sounds identical to my problem. I have an idea that it is UI related.If I use Profit for the click to cure buttons in group and raid window. When i first start EQ2 they all look fine, tooltips and all. After some time, I am not sure what triggers it, it could be leaving a group or zoning, the buttons are corrupted and see raw xml in the tooltip. Something like Parent.parent.parent.dirge... blah. I can guarantee a crash is incoming shortly afterwards.Driving me nuts!MEDIT: Have just checked the memory usage and indeed it is sucking the machine dry until it crashes. Unless the ETA has changed overnight, I believe they are planning to release a hotfix tomorrow morning that will help correct the issue. I would be somewhat hesitant to try fixes on your computer until we see how the patch effects it. In the meantime you might want to try lowering your graphics setting as a temporary workaround.
