View Full Version : Extremely long patch time for SoD - just on EU region

I play characters in both the EU (Runnyeye) and US (Bazaar) regions (primarily Runnyeye). Two days ago I played on Runnyeye, pre-SoD. Last night I played on Bazaar, post-SoD, and it took my client about 10 minutes to download the entire patch. Not bad for a major LU release.

Then this morning I'm patching EU region client to connect to Runnyeye, and it took 10-15 minutes for the blue (overall) progress bar to get to the top, and the estimated download time behaves about the same as it did on US region patching. Then it gets to the "end" and alluva sudden the estimated download time jumps up to over 3 hours -- and sure enough, the bottom (individual file) progress bar keeps filling up (slowly) on one file and starting over with a new file again and again and again even though the "overall" progress bar is still full. [Removed for Content], why's it taking so long on EU when it completed successfully for US on the same computer in 10 minutes on its previous session?

Knew I should have posted my OS before I went to work :p

I'm using Windows XP Pro and am logged in as an administrator. I have no security software per se (apart from AVG free for antivirus). I have the game installed to its own hd partition (E:), separate from both the OS (C:) and the regular Program Files location (F:). Next?

I just returned from work - and the patcher is STILL updating. O_O

Yep just did that a bit ago. Ran for about 10-15 mins patching and then got in fine.

Then I find out Runnyeye's update was cancelled... *sigh* back to the Bazaar then...

BTW - offtopic but ty ty ty ty to the devs for introducing the chronomages. I've been eager for that for my 4-year-old main here ever since the feature was first announced, will be awesome "reliving" her again ty ty ty ty ty ty ...
