I havent done the zone yet, and maybe its fun with something different like this. And we all like to do different stuff and all that bla bla bla etc but TBH all this fluffy pink teddybears, purple flappy wings, weird apperance armour etc has gone lill to far! The majority plays the game for killing stuff!

So instead i suggest!

1. Fix server lag

2. Fix game performance

3. Fix Class/racial balance

.

.

100.
There are PILES of raid zones and hard group instances, why begrudge a player who likes the fluff a zone to play in?When someone links in an item in level chat, my hubby checks stats, I check appearance. Finally, a zone for my playstyle!

This really is one of the dumbest zones they could of released, a shard zone with only apperance armor? This entire game update was a /fail imo, a terrible group zone a copied achievement system that isnt even good not to mention screwing up grandfathering all the achievements if you have 200 AAs and killed anything you didnt gain AA for you didnt recieve credit for the achievement the achievements they put out arent even creative, yay for killing the end boss in every group and raid dungeon. I can only hope this update was so terrible because they put all their effort into the next expansion.

I wouldnt be opposed to it if they had real items in the zone also and dropped an appearance item or house item along with something else or atleast gave you void shards for running the zone. + its just stupid to have the god of valor that easy, the fight is easier than just about every heroic fight in the expansion.

Did you get mad that the Haunted Mansion at Nights of the Dead didn't have any major fabled loot? Did you complain that it was too easy? I guess you are going to whine endlessly with the x2 Headless Horseman and the group Labyrinth they're adding for Nights of the Dead which all reward appearance gear because it's not giving out FABLED and because it's not hardcore requiring raid gear.

You've got 28 heroic level 80 zones with TSO and Kunark. You've got two x2 raid zones, five x4 raid zones. A fluff zone added for 2-3 players (husband/wife, casual players, etc.) with appearance gear really should not be ruining your day.

More comments here:

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=459262

I think it says something about the eq2 community that some /rail about a persistent fluff zone comming in however they have no negative reaction when such zones are seasonal or short term content.

I think if SoL was a seasonal zone around Erolsi Mar day or whatever, we'd see almost no complaints.

But the second you make it a persistent zone outside of a festivity, people get riled up about the lack of rewards.

I'm not sure I have a point, other than thats a really odd dicotomy. Why is it only acceptable by these haters if these fluff zones are seasonal?

Personally, I'm not sure if/when I'll even do the zone, but I certainly recognize there are a ton of people that will enjoy this content, and as long as they aren't getting set pieces, shards, progression gear, etc from 3 maning this fluff, I have absolutely no concern.

With the proliferation of set armor, everyone pretty much looks the same, if not for appearence slot items. A zone like SoL isn't going to have items that come close to even your T2 armor, so why bother with itemization beyond looks?

Same issues here with the door bug....we found finally that if we killed the fairy LAST the door would open. Personally i think it needs to be fixed so that either any combo of the four names opens the doors, or that the quest TELLS you in what order. It was VERY frustrating to get to the door and that was it. GM couldnt help us either....

However grats to Lafey in our guild group last night who discoed the wings last night...we finally got thru the door and got our guild a server disco on wings

And really what is with people dissing the zone? If you don't like it then dont go. See? EASY!! Some people like this ...if you dont then go somewhere you do like. Don't be bashing people who like the zone...thats why we have the ability to say "No, I dont want to go" and not go inside? Not a hard choice....

Geez.

Its nice to have an appearance only zone imho.
We hit the same bug as did several on our server that I know of. Agree there needs to be some sort of change to it, be it a designated order or any order. Clearing everything in the zone, 4 nameds plus doing the 2 additional quests in there and door wouldnt open.

I tend to agree that the zone is really easy but it was supposed to be. It was deemed a "small group" zone of average geared players. So with that being the intent they succeeded. I do, however, think the appearance only thing is a bit of a fail. The zone should drop at least treasured gear as well for the difficulty level.

I think it would be more useful for many however, to make a lootable version of the zone and amp the difficulty as an OPTION. It would be nice to have another smaller zone to get through in a reasonable time for quick play.

Did it with 3 people, 2 80s and a 72. Mithanial Marr took 600k hp of damage from us before he finished.... It's dull as hell at that rate. I'm not sure if there is some HP issue since we took a 72, but it was mind numingly slow. Thane took 527k, Woefulnes 509k, Valaron 668k. Fairy name didn't spawn for some reason... Trash mobs about 200k hp

I knew it was fuff, I wasn't expecting good loot. But it was painfully slow for a fluff zone. It wasn't hard as the mobs don't hit worth a crap just boring as ever.

My husband and i did this with his warlock and my templar, we're raiders and still had fun ! We did the zone in no particular order and once the names where dead the door swung open. we both had the access quest done so not sure if that might be some ppls issue. I've heard there are fairy wings to be had in the zone sooo ill be going back and we found a ton of sparklies! Was fun a nice change to the every day shard grind!

Sydnie Templar of Paradox

Neither of us are raiders. I have a few items from raids before TSO, but not a heck of a lot, neither of us have shard armor or anything like that, even. Mith took a bit of time, but wasn't espiecally hard. The rest of the zone wasn't that bad. A bit of a challenge at times, but neither of us died and there were no real problems.

Lady Shai wrote:

Same issues here with the door bug....we found finally that if we killed the fairy LAST the door would open.

We didn't kill the fairy last, and the door still opened. Not to girly for me :p I pretend they are blood drippings not petals lol. Love the zone will be back.

EDIT: I did not Experience the bug though.
Have run this zone everyday sense the patch and luckily have never run into the bug where the doors did not open after killing all the ring events. Imho it is a fun zone, now granted for the group of people I run it with it is not hard at all. My only complaint is that I have a bag full of fireworks that I will not use, and that some of the items are still class restricted even thou they are just appearence/fluff items.

Good job on doing something different that some people will hate because it does not give them there I win button

I was sort of excited about this zone at first but I'm really starting to get annoyed. Not for the fact that it's only fluff stuff, I like fluff stuff. However, I'm not a raider and only just got my second pair to 80 and haven't even started working on getting shards for them yet, wearing all mc and some legendary quested stuff ..so therefore I am out of luck. Even mentored down to 70 and unmentoring inside doesn't work for me. I run out of power before Thane and Willow have even taken 10% damage due to their billions of hp's. The other named winds up 69 and grey and for some reason an easy take-down. I belong to a very small family guild not in the same time zone so it's not easy finding someone else on to go in with. pug's are out of the question. For no real impact fluff items...why? I could understand this if these things were dropping masters or something and probably would just shrug and go on.

A small group of us did go in and do it over the weekend and we got some okay fluff items but another thing I didn't understand was the petmorph wand that dropped, form of the spirit lion or something. No-trade. Again, I wonder why..none of us were a pet class. Again it's merely a fluff item, something cool but certainly not game-changing, making me wonder why this would be no-trade and not heirloom so someone could loot it and perhaps pass it on to one of their pet class alts.

I'm disappointed in the zone. I have been going in trying to get a couple of the fluff items (buckler and wings) for a level 60ish group - only to find out that those items are level 80 items, and will never drop for us in a zone that has scaled to our level.

If they are fluff items, why the heck aren't they level 1 - appearance, like everything else in the game is (for appearance)?

It's not worth doing more than once under these circumstances because the loot is awful - even full/house/appearance stuff. The AA is decent on the repeatable quests (slider AA). It would be worth doing more than once if those items had even a rare chance of dropping - that's still better than 0 chance.

It's definitely not worth it and not fun enough to run several times a day on various characters - so after finding out those items wouldn't drop for my 'younger' group, I'm not doing the zone anymore. The potential stuff for a T7 group is not worth the trip.

I did this boxing a warden (77, was 76 going in) and my monk (very well geared, lots of ward procs). The only boss that gave me any trouble was the dragonfly because he would charm my monk and kill the warden, than he would reset. I finally got it down by equipping all my mental resist gear to push my resist up past 15,000. I than got bored and pull the entire area with the fairies in one pull. With all my wards going the mobs didn't even damage me, I only ran into trouble near the end when most of the mobs were dead and not proccing my wards, I actually ran some of the mobs out of power!

I do enjoy doing the zone, it is pretty fun and the appearance gear is nice as well, it's also good XP on the warden. Overall I think Sony did a good job with the zone.
