View Full Version : Concerning payment with credit card....

Earlier this year I had a lot of problems with creditcard payments - it happened when I tried to also subscribe to station players. (I had a monthly subscription for EQ2 that had worked fine until then - someone in tech support told me that the payment method 'cannot handle two payments at once'???)

Since the issue could not be resolved, I then bought myself a buddygift of 6 months of subscription which will soon be done in a couple of weeks.

So I am asking what is best to do now? First of all I would like to also get the Shadow Odyssey expansion which I never got - station players and also a normal, monthly subscription.

What would tech support advise me to do? Use the old Visa credit card and see if it will go through now? Subscribe/buy all at once? Or? Or use my new Mastercard - and still - do I get it all at once or what? I cannot handle anymore issues with payment - so please tell me exactly how to do it so that you will not close down my account for 'not paying' (even if I am doing all I should do, and using legit credit cards.)

Thank you!

Greetings,

I'm sorry, but I do not know what you mean when you mention 'two payments at once'. You should be able to purchase a subscription, station players, and the expansion in one charge if you would like to. Any card should work as long as it is valid and the information you provide is correct.

Regarding credit card payments there is only one known issue at the moment. Federal law has changed this year and we are now required to use a $0 authorization system for credit card validation. Sadly, banks are not required to comply until the end of October. Most card companies have already made the switch but if yours has not then the card will not work for now. At this point those cards are in the minority, but the problem exists. Until the bank makes the switch we can only suggest using a different card if that's the case.

In any case - you will know what card companies have already made the switch? I mean Visa and Mastercard are major credit cards so wouldn't they be up to date? I don't understand what you mean by "$0 authorization system" - could you explain please? Thank you.

Well - I have read plenty of posts with the exact same problem as mine since the start of this year. I am in Europe. So are the banks here in that same system? Or does this simply mean that I can no longer play EQ?

Okay - I started out buying some station cash to see if my 'old' creditcard would work. It did. So today I have bought Shadow Odessey and a monthly subscription. But there is something on there that I would like for you to see. I will pm you with it - just so that if there are any faults it will be taken care of in time. Thank you.
