I made a baby Iksar Guardian just for laughs and in the beginning it was really fun, but as I slowly made my way out of Darklight Wood and into Commons I noticed something very strange about the DLW gear versus the new gear I'm working towards (the level 20 Evil Class Armor)...I noticed this new gear was a little odd because instead of focusing on the STR and STA that the DLW gear was focusing on, it instead focused alot on AGI..(the 3 +14 AGI pieces caught my attention...). Now I'm no specialist at tanking..heck, out of the 2 years I've played this game, this is the first serious tank I've ever made, but it seems to me that the Class armor has little to do with my actual class...I know as a guardian you have MORE than enough HP to survive getting attacked so it should make logical sense that STR and STA should be more focused on to increase your health even more and increase the amount of damage you do. I know the class armor isn't what it used to be, and comparitive to the new armor that DLW/Greater Fay it would seem crap, but all the other toons I've gotten class armor for made sense. Brigand/assassin got +agi armor, Mages got +int armor, Priest got +wis armor, etc. Am I just "missing the point" of being a Guardian? Or can someone give me a better line of quests to do up to 30 because at this rate by the time I'm done with my Class Armor quest, I'm going to be in really bad shape come the 30s into the 40s...and I don't really want to pay for MC armor till at LEAST t6.Again, I'm new to tanking so I don't know the appropiate line of armors to go down, but I DO know that armor is VERY important to a tank, (I want to focus my TSing on my CAs so I can't have my cake and eat it too...).I WILL have to search up rares for my MC armor but there HAS to be an alternative up to t6...)-Always looking to try new things->Bibbles of Kithicor<

Although not as important in TSO now, AGI is for avoidance. For tanks that means less chances for him/her to get hit. Ideally your avoidance will be darn high (along with +parry), but it's a v-e-r-y hard stat to raise as you level higher and higher, as gear then (at least for meat tanks) will be mainly about STA (outright survivability, and depending on group avoidance buffs). TSO gear for pure tanks, even T2 is pretty low on the STR, but like double on STA, and about half on AGI. You'll be depending more on +parry and crit mit then.

ah that's great to hear considering the new "racial revamp" will be giving me +5 to my parry, defense, and some other thing I wasn't too keen on remembering >.<But thank you for answering to a newby at Fighters in general no less tank classes

At lower levels stats may affect you differently and the lower level content has changed way too much since I did it as a guard to speak authoritively.

However, at cap STA > STR > AGI

I find capping STA not too hard, but I also find it important. The next focus is caping str as it affects your to-hit modifiers and if you miss, you fail to build hate and well you fail to tank.

I do value agility, but its definately a tertiary stat.

PVP, solo, lower levels, all probably have different priorities.
