If you betray your heals will still be slow and I don't know how betraying will solve your power issues. Think about what other classes the templar had in his group. Did he have other healers or a class that regens power? What kind of gear do you and that templar have? Are you casting damage spells/debuffs the whole time or are you trying to save power?

Anyway it seems like your set on betraying, I guess you can look up the betrayal quest on eq2 wiki and have fun.

1st until high end Templar and Inquisitor heals take about the same time to cast. The only difference is, that the Templar direct heals heal for more, but have a higher reuse timer and the Templar has many more "proc heals", that can help out. At high end the Inquisitor will even cast faster then a Templar due to heal stance and the Mythical. 2nd With an Inquisitor you should even have an easier time to manage your power as we have a spell that procs power for us. Don't put it on yourself but the fastest hitting char in a group! That helps a ton. Also disable Yaulp if power is an issue. It can eat your power quite fast. Then, if you still have power issues, disable Dogma. Dogma is by far the worst heal for HP/power. You should be able to do without it most of the time. Also try to get some Mana Items. Manawell items are a good start. You can even buy some off the broker. To counter the slow heals try to get some benefical cast speed items: Set Gloves Healer Gloves of the 1st named in NHT Earring of the Najena blue shiny collection ... Will you have an easier time healing a Tank as a Templar? Yes Will you have an easier time healing a non Tank group / AE damage as a Templar? It will actually be worse. Will you have less power issues with the Templar? Most likely you will have even more power issues. I hope this helps.

Wow, excellent reply.

Group composition is a big factor.

Power feed from an AA speced illusionist is like having no power drain at all.
