Hello,

Was trying to see if this has already been posted, but couldn't find anything handy. Lately when I have been trying to change from toon to toon in game by using the /camp
function I get a client crash. Is this something that has been happening, or did I touch something lol...in all seriousness it is annoying. I like going from toon to toon especially when crafting.. any ideas/comments would be great.

thx~

We have a fix for this problem currently on the Test server and is scheduled to go live with GU53 next week.

Sorry for the inconvenience this problem has caused. We're aware it can be quite frustrating.

I had a similar issue which was caused by corrupted logfiles on 2 of my chars, if you crash randomly than ignore this advice, but if you always crash when you try to switch to certain chars then try by deleting or "moving away" the log files of those chars (can be found in the /log folder in your everrquestii root).

Hope it helps and best regards

Pijotre Kajek

The corrupted/read-only log files are a possibility so I would advise checking that. Beyond that suggestion, you might want to try disabling voice chat when switching characters as well. The chat feature has caused a crash when switching characters for some people. I believe that is the issue Rothgar is referring to in his post.

My problem started with this issue, /camp and just /camp to character select it'd crash back to the desktop. Today, it has begun crashing randomly throughout game play. I seem to be able to stay connected for about 4 minutes before it crashes and restarts my whole pc.

I tried deleting the UI and related files like was suggested in another post, disabling my voice program, and running in windowed mode. I've got no addons installed. My husband's machine with exactly the same set up as mine is running just fine with everything enabled. I'm at a loss. Is there something else I might be able to try between now and patch day? I don't mind crashing to desktop when changing characters! At least when it was doing that I could still play.

This is my dxlog or whatever you call it if it helps:

System Information------------------Time of this report: 9/20/2009, 16:01:29 Machine name: STUPIDINTERNETZ Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.090206-1234) Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: System manufacturer System Model: System Product Name BIOS: BIOS Date: 07/30/08 Ver: 08.00.14 Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz Memory: 3328MB RAM Page File: 710MB used, 4500MB available Windows Dir: C:WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.5512 32bit Unicode------------DxDiag Notes------------ DirectX Files Tab: No problems found.
i am having the same issue with the /camp character, and zoning, iwas perusing the techy forums to see if deleting cache files were an option.and seeing the info here, i will most certainly make a back up of those files and giver a shot. it does seem to happen to several of my characters more than others ,and it can take up to 3 or 4 minutes for my char to zone (or crash) and then once char is added to zone, im frozen there for a good 15- 20 seconds. my immunity timer doesnt start running until i can move .but any player that zoned with me has only a few seconds of immunity left, one issue id like to address is, i have terrible performance issues in kylong plains (vox) especially leading into terans grasp, but the issue isnt on all my chars, (i have 12)so ill assume again its cache files ,, i recently purchased a new comp , it has windows 7 build 7100 x64,so tso is a clean fresh install, i had most of the same issues, on the prev comp, (the zoning and char switch snafus are a new addition to this comp)ive tried every type of setting change i can think of and nothing resolves it, when i get home ill, try the cache deletion and will ,post what ever change it makes later this evening

                                              the error log in eq2
Gorpier -

The issue you're describing sounds like heat or hardware failure. The fact that your computer is completely restarting is not a good sign. Do you have any kind of heat monitoring software on that computer? If so, please check what temps you are getting both in and out of game.

Baadmedicine -

You are currently running a computer with Windows 7, an integrated graphics chip, and less than 2GB of RAM. The issues you're describing sound normal for your computer specifications. At the moment your graphics chip is using up what little RAM you have for graphics processing. Installing an actual graphics card would make a huge difference. Also, I would advise bringing your RAM up to at least a solid 2gb. Win 7 tends to be somewhat memory intensive.

UPDATE -- Nevermind! I fixed the issue by getting rid of the station launcher I had and redownloading everything.
